Hi,

As you all know, MB's suspension are all kinda boaty, yet they are very comfortable. I am just wondering for a clk320, what would be a good suspension upgrade to increase the performance, yet without sacrificing too much comfort? On my list, comfort is still more important to me than performance. And about how much, in the ball park, do you think it'll probably cost? Thanks all

Eibach's Prokit springs offer a good ride quality while increasing the over performance and handling ... the set of springs would cost $275.00 plus shipping

Thanks KWik. I think you are right, a kit would make most sense. Do you know if the kits are available for the w209? Do you have any personal experience with H&R or Vogtland? I have heard that HR is the hardest suspension. True???

Sorry, I was thinking W208. The W209 doesn't have as much available yet. But Eibach, H&R, Vogtland all list springs for the W209.

Yes, I have had both H&R and Vogtland. I would say the H&R are a little stiffer, but not much. The biggest difference in ride will come from shock choice. Since I haven't seen an offered for the W209 yet, and you are looking for comfort, I would say stick with either the Eibach or Vogtland and get Koni shocks when they become available. You could also just use the CLK55 shocks.

Check the CLK55 forums to see if anyone upgrading wants to sell, otherwise just call the dealer.

I have a set of springs and shocks (4 each) from a 2002 CLK55. I replaced the suspension on the car with Koni adjustables and H&R Sport Springs when the car had 1200 miles. The car was lowered approximately 1.5 inches all around and I love the ride-compliant and/or taunt, situation dictates. If you are interested in the CLK55 suspension, contact me at www. bccoker@earthlink.net. I live in Huntington Beach, Ca.
