Which is worse? (Spring Question)

Which is worse?

Heating a set of linear-rate springs or cutting a coil off a set of linear-rate springs?

Thanks for you input,

Don

Heating is worse, BUT, they are both VERY BAD solutions. Springs are engineered to be the size and shape they are. Cut or heated springs may give you the look you want, but the ride will suffer and could lead to failure of the spring, shock, etc.

Thanks

OMG! Please don't do either. The amount of money you save by not buying springs will cost you 10X to fix all the damage that would will done.

If you heat the spring they lose there tension strength and continue to sag until there's no spring left.

Cutting the spring as Brad said is not a good idea either.

Regards,
Tim
