W203 lowered, widest tire?

I've got 225/40/18's on my Brabus MB IV's. Does anyone know if I can go 235 instead? BTW, I've got the H&R springs on my car.

Second question, if I can go 235's all around, I need to put some spacers on my rears. What's the maximum I can go? 20mm?

Thanks in advance.

yes it will be fine but the size you have now is optimal for the C. You can fit up to a 265 width tire in the rear.

Thanks Lee for the reply....

Regarding 235's, I want to go a little wider because my rims are 8.5" wide and the 225's look a little too thin. In other words, the lips of the rims aren't quite flush with the edge of the tire (damn, wish I had a close up picture to show you).

When you mean optimum, do you mean it's an exact +2 from stock?

Thanks,

235's on the front shouldn't be any problem.

When i said optimum i mean the recommended size for 18" fornt wheels on the C W203. You can use the 235, its a little tall but still ok. If you want the rim to come out more to the fender, use a spacer or get lower offset wheels. The offset is what determines the flushness to the fender. The tire will help (5mm each direction) so it will come out 5mm more than where it is right now. If it's not enough, use a 5mm spacer.

I know exactly how your car rims must look...LOL. I also have 225 40 18. I was afraid of rubbing so I got it like that but it just looks tooooooo funny. The rims sticks out more than the tire. Im getting 235 40 18's next. If you look at the W203 forum I posted a thread about that there too asking about the width a few weeks ago. hehe.
