Will these fit my CLK55 w/o mods?

These are the wheels I am looking to put on my '01 CLK55 but I think they are too large to fit without any adjustments. Can you guys help clarify? Will these go on with no mods (ie. do NOT require fender roll, etc). Someone stated in another recent post on this section of the forum that "You do not need any modifications IF the wheels are for a W211 E55 as every AMG has pre-rolled fenders from the factory". Is that accurate or does he actually mean that all E55 AMG's have...? Getting back to my question: I know the offset is wrong but I think spacers can be used, right? The bolt pattern is correct @112. These are on eBay for the next day at no reserve (currently a little over $2K). Thanks in advance for your advice. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33748
Well, you car may have pre-rolled fenders from the factory, but that doesnt mean you can put wrong sizes of wheels and tires on it!
I think those wheels are for S class, which means they're designed for use with 14mm bolts and your car uses 12mm bolts. Also, 245 front & 275 rear tires are simply too big for your car. The rear will rub for sure! I have seen a CLK430 with those wheels on (but with 235/265 tires). It is not 100% impossible, but you have to do some modifications both on the wheels and on the fenders.
I think you should look for other wheels.
That someone you quoted is me.

.....Harris - You post appears to actually confirm that my AMG has rolled fenders. Is that an accurate statement..."All CLK55 AMG's" have rolled fenders? If so, then what size tires CAN I use without having any concerns about rub (Your post indicates 235/265 for 19, correct? What about 18")? PS - I have not lowered this car but may do so depending on the suitability of the clearance on the final tires. Ideally, I'd like to know the max sizes for 19" and 18" rims...... I also don't want the tires to be "stretched" over a rim (I don't like the 1/8" of rubber look that method generates. Thanks again for the direction.
18x8 = 225/40/18
18x9 = 255/35/18
18x8.5 = 235/40/18
18x9.5 = 265/35/18
19x8 = 225/35/19
19x9 = 255/30/19
19x8.5 = 235/35/19
19x9.5 = 265/30/19
HOWEVER, when you are using 9.5 wheels on the rear, some might suggest you to go with 225/255 combo. But I think there shouldnt be any problem using the 235/265 combo, PROVIDED you are not slamming your car to the ground.
In any cases, the wheels should not be stretching over the tires.

I'm gonna start calling you "butter" because you're on a roll ...
another good post ....
the 235/265 combo's you have listed will require a fender roll in most cases but 'ALL' AMG cars have the fenders rolled from the factory

Given this, I am assuming that a CLK 320 fitted w/ 18x8.5 f and 18x10 rear (235/40/18 and 265/35/18) will more than likely require fender modification. Is that a correct assumption??
Michael, Luke will say Yes to your answer and I will say No. The W208 and W209 have the same offset on the rear. I used to own a CLK430 and I had 18x10 Carlsson 2/5 wheels with 265/35/18 PZero Directionale and I did not have any rubbing problem. My car was also lowered with Koni shocks and H&R springs. However, when I changed my tires to PZero Rosso, it did rub on big bumps. So I bought another set of Toyo T1-S, given the design of T1-S is more "rounder" in the corner, I didnt have any rubbing problem. Thats why all along I was suggesting you to get T1-S tires. And the Brabus springs that you're going to have will not lowered as much as the H&Rs. Therefore, I am pretty confident that you dont have to do anything to the fender. If I'm wrong, I'll pay for your fender rolling costs.
you broke the string of good posts .....
I think that should be the best post of all!!!
