fitting wheels into a clk
I am trying to get this set of wheels for my clk320.
What does these number means exactly? Thanks
set 1(225/40/18)(215/35/18)
set 2(235/40/18)
set 3(245/40/18)
What is the stock rims size? 16x7.5?
So would 18x7.5 look the same in width?

The wheels are 8.5Jx18 front and 9.5Jx18 rear AMG monoblock thin-spokes running Pilot Sport 245/40ZR18 front and 265/40ZR18 rear. The guys at TW Motorsports in Campbell, CA sent the fronts out to be trimmed down about an eigth of an inch.

The color is Azzure blue (matching cloth top) with Ash interior. Since this is my wife's car, I decided not to make any performance enhancements other than dumping the wimpy 17" tires and wheels.

so 245 was too wide for the front that they had to trim it?

I think machining the back of the wheel hub allows the tires to clear the fender under extreme conditions. At a stand still, the tire looks like it will clear without a problem but the car has a lot of dive under heavy braking and cornering. I was also told that by going one size smaller on the tires, I would not have a rubbing problem. I can tell you that with over 10K miles on this setup, I haven't been able to rub a tire yet. Believe me, I've tried!
