assymetric tires - can they be rotated

i have a staggered set up, mercs 500sel, amg 3 peice wheels
fronts are 245 45 17 , rears 275 40 17 on kumho ecstas asx

can the left front, be placed on the right front
it would make the tire drive opposite it has been
same for the rears.

the tires do mark outside and inside but , i dont see a direction arrow.

please advise

Yes, assymetrical can be rotated so long as the "outside" stays outside. This is different from directional which have to be kept on the same side (unless you are remounting them)

ok so this will be ok, that i switch the sides....? i will keep outside outside, but the direction the tire will be reveresed of waht it was going for the last 10000 miles.
ok good...

i guess if all 4 are going backwards in a sense it should be ok?

The point, I believe, is that the outer and inner tread designs are different to handle various road and weather conditions.

yup

the outer tread is most important for cornering, so you will find larger tread blocks there with less voids.

so if i do a rotation side to side without dismounting wheels that larger thread will be on the inside,... wait, no it wont, it will just be backwards...

does doing that have any affect on the radial belts, the steel itself, as to how it acts....

with this setup on my cars, im just trying to get the most miles i can out of them ...

The outer would still be on the outside if you switch left to right but there is no "backwards" in this case unless your tires have the rotation arrow on them.

i didnt see an arrow on them ( that would make the directinale, woundlnt it)
they just have the word outside stamped on them.

i was just wondering if it made any difference to the skeleton of the tire, the radial steel , it ended up going the other way
