Best Tires for 04 s500 4 matic
Good evening, I am new to this site but i just purchased my s500 this past saturday and today i just purchased some 20 inch Mercedes Carlsson style rims. I was looking for help on choosing the best Tires for my rims and so i can keep the ride quality. The rims are staggered front 20x8.5 and rear 20x9.5 i need assistance before i just go crazy on buying tires just to put the rims on my car. Thank you!

Once you put the 20's on, you can throw good ride quality out the window.

I have heard completely different, Yes i know it will never be the exactly the same but you can still get a great ride even putting 20's with good premium tires. Thanks for your opinion though.

depends on the weather
while staggered wheeels and tires are NOT recommended for a 4matic the proper sizes would be 245/35R20 & 275/30R20

Do i have to program the computer once i put my 20's, So the tranny shifts correctly or that is not required. And why is not recommended. Please advise

Luke at tiretrack advised if going with 20s go front 245/35R20 & rear 275/30R20. You are saying go with same size all around, Why is that, Also a good advise on some tire brands is what i am also refering to also. Thank you

providing you select the correct tire size you will not need to do any computer programming.
The reason I said it is not recommended to run staggered tires on your car is the all wheel drive system is VERY sensitive and you could damage it by running staggered sizes. Many AWD cars do run staggered size but, the AWD system is designed differently in those cars.
