D2FORGED CV3-LP Preview: Deep Concave, minus the extra pounds

Hey guys,

Just wanted a share a preview of what we have in store for 2011.

This is the, the CV3-LP (LightPack). It's our take on the deep concave design, with a twist! We've retained the deep concave profile, and removed all the excess material, which results in a MUCH lighter wheel!

The design philosophy behind this wheel was weight savings, and insanely good looks. :bow1:

More info:

D2FORGED CV3-LP

21x10.5"
Deep Concave
Step Lip
Titanium Brushed Center
Mirror Polished Lip with Ceramic Clearcoat
Weight: 24lbs

Wow.

So wait, is that multi-piece/step lip/concave?

Good lord.

**EDIT**

Just read the description. I get very distracted by shiny objects.

Nice work, gents.

Yes we could do them with a chrome center, however to take full advantage of the weight optimization I would recommend the hi-polished with ceramic clearcoat.

(That's the lip finish on the lip in the picture above).

With the calipers on a 63, the lip is not going to be huge, about 2.5" max.

If you are after a huge lip I would suggest you move over to our X-lip package.

It's a manufacturing process that we use to yield a lip that is 1-1.5" larger in most all applications.

I will post pics for you later

Looks great! Can you elaborate on the materials you removed? When you say removed did you mean completely removed or just hid it on the otherside? What materials were they?

Most notably we removed all the excess aluminum of the "leg" that normally travels from the edge of the lip back to the flange.

That is a ton of excess material that adds a lot to the weight of the wheel. With the dramatic "kink" in this models design (as the spoke comes off the flange), it still retains that deep concave appearance.

Just without the pounds!
