I need the quietest softest riding tire in size 215/45 R17. I want something that stays quiet even after 10k miles, I am fed up with my bridgestone RE040 tires. They ride stiff now, are so loud, and start to squeal on corners. With over 50% tread left I am ready to throw them away. Would like to still have good handling but quiet and soft ride are priority!

Both the Firehawk SZ50 EP and the Yokohama AVS dB are very quite tires, and very soft riding. Had both on my Lincoln Mark VIII. Both were much more quiet than any other tire I have used, and I went through 4 different tire brands on that car.
I much prefered the Firehawk SZ50 EP because it is a much more responsive tire (sporty) than the Yokohama AVS dB. Both remained quite through entire tire life, 18-20,000 with the Firestones. Only at 15,000 with the Yokohama and there is 35% tread left. Still quiet.
I have learned to accept Luke's recommendations, he has never steered me wrong.
You will love the Firehawk SZ50 EP, get the 225's.
