Why 2 different AMG Styling IV for W211?

I thought AMG learned their lessen with the two different Styling IV versions on the W203 C32 and W209 CLK55 in 17X7.5 & 17X8.5.

Tire Rack is showing two different Style IV in 18X8 and 18X9 for W211. WTF! Who is going to buy this first b_astard version when the second one looks so much better. Since the 2nd pictured wheel is OEM on the W211 E55 what car did they make the 1st pictured wheel for?

depends on the weather
the first wheel pictures is the C32 Styling IV wheel and the second wheel is the W211 Stlying IV wheel ... they are 2 very distinct different wheels with the same name from AMG ...don't blame us but, there are 2 different finishes for the second wheel just to make it more confusing
#1.) Briliant Silver
#2.) Silver with a machined lip (soon to be discontinued)

Luke, should that be:

#1.) Silver with a machined lip (soon to be discontinued)
#2.) Brilliant Silver

Also, are you saying there are "2 different finishes" for this wheel:

They both look pretty good in my opinion.

i think when luke listed those 2 colors, it was in reference to the W211 Style IV wheels... rather than referencing the two pics

W203 Style IV is silver/mc lip
W211 style IV is silver/mc lip or brilliant silver paint

I think pretty much all the "silver with machined lip" wheels are on the way out. Gotta lower costs everywhere.

Also, I don't think Fondmetal produces any with the machined lip, and most of the wheel production is being switched from Ronal.

mmgrad,

How did you resolve the issue of using the W215 CL 19" wheels which use 14mm ball seat lug bolts on your CLK using 12mm ball seat bolts? Also are you running a spacers to minimize/correct the offset? Thanks.

yes, i'm running 10mm spacers all around and they fit well... although, I wonder if they make 12mm spacers... i think 12mm would be perfect cause i'm noticing a very very very slight rub against the inside fenderwell cover... i just hope 12mm won't make me hit the fenders itself..

I'm using custom 12mm bolts to fit the seat and were cut to fit the exact lengths

Who machined them for you? How much would something like that cost. Thanks.
