Yikes, HR spring install

So I went to the local Big O Tire store since it's listed as a certified installer by the tire rack website. They said it would be $300 to install the H+R springs on my 01 CLK 430. I could have sworn I had read posts in the past where people said they paid between 100-150. I am dreaming this or is $300 the going rate these days? Thanks for any comments.

Happy Holidays!

Cheers,

Dominik

HOLY *****.... $300?

don't go to those tire chain stores... they specialize in tires, not suspension...

go to a reputable Euro tuner shop... they'll hook you up nicely... it really depends on your geographics...

its cheap here in Cali... one of the very few things that are cheap...

Ok, good, I'm not out of my mind thinking that was quite high...
I'm actually in CA, Fairfield, Travis AFB area. We are about halfway between San Fran and Sac... I'll have to see what shop I can find that's a better deal. The guy at Big O was justifiying the price by saying that they had to take a big part of the suspension off and take it to the spring compressor, etc... I'm a car retard so it sounded reasonable to me, but thanks to your guys at the forum I knew that it was a bit steep... Time to start searching for a suspension shop... Thanks again.

Cheers,

Dominik

hmm... i wouldn't trust him... for spring install on W208 CLK, you need to bring the compressor to the car, not the springs to the compressor...

they don't have to take apart anything really... just remove the wheels... i think they jerking you off... did your pants get wet???
