Hydraulic Handbrake and ESP/BAS/ABS
I bought a rather rusty W208 CLK 200 Compressor almost two years ago and have been modifying and drifting it since.
One of the real issues I have is the foot mounted handbrake being less than ideal for drifting, and planned to stick in a Hydro to solve the problem, (and I've always wanted one).
Problem is I know there are two brake lines heading to the rear. Seeing as my hydro only has one master cylinder, I would have to T these lines just before and after the handbrake, as shown below,
This will mess with BAS, ESP and probably ABS. I don't really care about these systems working as they should as ABS is more important on the front wheels, and frankly the ESP is always turned off. Don't like it.
What I would like to know is if it will throw a light on the dash. This car is my daily driver and will fail MOT with a warning light showing.
Thanks in advance.
To answer your question, you would prolly have a light come on, yeah. you may as well leave the ABS/ESP box unplugged, as you don't need ABS or anything like that since this is a drift car. This enables a light on the dash that nags at you about it.
Why dont you go with an external reservoir hydraulic ebrake? that way you dont have to use the ABS distribution box. independent brake system pretty much. wont mess with your systems or turn on any lights.
