I am looking for what tire size is good to use with 18 x 8.5 wheels. I do not want any rubbing. Will I need to make any suspension adjustments? Will it be better to use the same size tire all around for easy rotation? What about tire brands? What do you guys use? I am looking for around $150 each. This is on a C230 Komp. Sport. Thanks.

bajaiman - You have the new body style, so I think fitment would be different.

Benz916 - I've just recently been told that I should not go larger than 7.5. Do you think that you could get away with another inch? What kind of rims do you have? This suks, because I found a nice set of rims, but they are 8.5. Also, where are you located in Sac.? Maybe I can come and check out what you have.

Luke@tirerack - I looked at tirerack and found that there are options that contain 18 x 8.5. Does this mean that there will be no problems with this size for all 4 wheels? My main concern is the front because of turning, etc. Regarding tires is 225/40-18 good for all 4 with this option?

Thanks guys.

i know this is ridiculous, BUT

will a 215/35 fit on 18x8.5 wheel.

just let me know if it will work, not if it is safe or recommended.

if not, what is the smallest tire i can get on there?

thanks in advance.

it might fit but I wouldn't recommend it tho....225 is the thinnest I'd go.....actually I've never heard people have 215 on 8.5"

I have some 17x7.5 (I think) 235/45zr/17, is that possbile or is my wheel 17x8.5? How do they make 225 tires fit a 7.5 or 8.5? vice versa

I have some tires that are 225/45zr/17 on 17x7.5 or 17x8.5. I dont know, what are my options? What size 17 does AMG make, and what are the different sizes for 17 wheels and tires? How a does a 225 and 235 tire will fit the same wheel. How many different tire sizes are there for a wheel.

If I upgrade from 17x7.5 what are the best size wheel and tires in 18 and 19 inch? Im new to the technical aspect of these cars, sorry for these questions.
