will 04 E55 Wheel fit on W209 CLK?

Hi i'm wondering if the new E55 wheel will fit on W209 CLK. btw i think this wheel is different from the double spoke AMG wheel that tire rack are currently selling. The spoke seems skinnier. Anyone ever done this mod, if so can some one pls post a picture ! Thanks

Not recommended because E55 uses 14mm bolts and CLK uses 12mm. There is a AMG double spoke wheel in 18's made for the W203/209 (the German CLK55s have double spoke 18's as standard wheel). You should get that instead.

Is there no way to bypass this 14mm vs 12mm...?

notice how harris stated that it is NOT recommended. Luke will also not recommend this. However, I know several people that have done the 12mm on 14mm thing and none have any problems.....at least not yet. FOr example... all the people that own W208's that have the AMG 19" thin 5 spokes or the AMG monoblock aero II's. These people are using 12mm bolts in holes that are 14mm.

depends on the weather
I have seen it cause serious damage in the past ... the seat area of the 12mm lughardware is smaller than the 14mm hardware so, it puts a huge amount of stress in a very small area which has cause wheel centers to fail at really bad times ..... I have witnessed a C32 using CL wheels in a high speed corner under braking and a front wheel breaks .... not a pretty site ...... and the $7,500 +++ in damage to the car was not as bad as the guy medical bill

Damnit luke got me all worried now.. Ive done this mod to my car. Had my bolts modified to fit the E55 wheel, the guys said he machined the bolt head a bit so i would make full contact when installed..

A member from Taiwan also did this mod this user name is Shine.

The BBS CH wheels I purchased from Tire Rack several years ago appear to have 14mm bolt holes. These wheels were for an E36 M3, which uses 12mm bolts.
