Any significant performance (or price) difference between regular and run-flat versions? Might be looking for Winter wheel & tire set (and I assume 7.5 x 17 recommended).

the cost of runflats is significantly higher fot the tire and if your car does not already have a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) you must add one and that is an additional cost (approx. $300.00) ... performance they are about equal
noka, winter tires don't come in run-flats!

Kev, yes they do
Thanks Luke, I thought "run flat" and "winter tire" was mutally exclusive. He-He!

Luke: Is the Dunlop WinterSport M3 size 225/45-17 only available as run-flat? I don't have TPMS and no plans to add one anytime soon to my C55. Otherwise, what alternate snow would you recommend in that size?
Note: I would typically drive the C55 on decent Winter days fairly clear roads, with only occasional inclement weather driving if I had to.

Interesting. Anything in particular make you choose Blizzak over Michelin? Is LM-25 a new model to replace LM-22?Originally Posted by Luke@tirerack

the Blizzak products offer better snow and ice traction .... and yes the 25 will replace the 22

Hi Luke, thanks for the info. I mentioned that I would typically be driving on days where the roads were clear (or at least plowed), with an occasional trip in snow covered roads. I do have a Winter beater but you never know when it could have a problem and the C55 must be called into service. Given that scenario, i.e. not driven every day (at least not in Winter) and also factoring in Winter tire wear on dry roads, would your recommended list above still hold?Originally Posted by Luke@tirerack

I understand but, you are only asking these questions because you are looking for winter traction

OK, fair enough. What is your rationale then for not recommending the Dunlop WinterSport M3, which by the TireRack survey results seems to surpass the others you mentioned. Again, not trying to be difficult, ... just looking for your opinion here.Originally Posted by Luke@tirerack
