Lightbulb My Wheel Build Experience with Bill Gorman

I currently have been working with Bill Gorman having him build me a set of wheels for my C63. It started on August 19, 2011 when i got the bill from him through paypal and payed him on August 23, 2011 the full amount.

As of this day i am still waiting for my wheels. 8 Months later paid in full and have not received my wheels yet. I have been back and for with him on shipping dates but there is always some sort of delay .. Ive been trying to be in contact with him throughout the entire process but but there are delays that come up and its somewhat difficult to contact him since he has so many people wanting builds from him.

He has promised to ship numerous times but has not as of yet.
Its now April 12th and i still haven't received the wheels yet.

Well Bill has done many things to make up for the delays that have come up. One is that i originally ordered the wheels with Hankook V12 and he upgraded the tires to CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS for me which was a real surprise since these tires are so much more expensive and i did get a really good deal on the wheels.

ON TOP OF THAT.... He also threw in 2 center forgings for the wheels that I can use in case something happens to the wheels if they get damaged as you can see in the pictures he sent me. Hes told me all this on several video messages hes sent me of updates on the wheels.

WELL BILL IS A VERY GOOD GUY AT HEART BUT HES SOMEWHAT SLOW AT WHAT HE DOES. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A QUALITY BUILD AND HAVE SOME TIME TO SPARE IN THE WAIT THEN I WOULD SAY HES YOUR GOTO MAN. HE IS A VERY GOOD GUY AS HE WILL MAKE THINGS RIGHT BY WHAT YOU SEE HERE.

IVE SEEN PICS OF THE WHEELS AS WELL AS THEM BOXED AND READY TO SHIP. AS OF NOW IM GOING TO HOPEFULLY RECEIVE THESE WHEELS SOON AS HE HAS PROMISED TO SHIP THEM OUT THIS WEEK.

I WILL POST PICTURES OF THE WHEELS ON THE CAR AS SOON AS I GET THEM SO WE CAN ALL SEE WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING 8 MONTHS FOR.

Dam thats so Sh*ty, im sorry about that. That sucks how it took so long because now its to late to make a claim threw paypal. Still try contacting paypal about it, 8 months and not replying to your texts all the time or your calls is just ridiculous, plus he was saying they will ship that week for a few months

Bill does reply to my texts and calls but he just takes a bit of time to get back to me. Its his spare time hobby and i realize he doesnt have that much spare time to do the things that hes really good at.

Sorry to hear about your experience ...it is shame that MBworld allows some people to solicit work through the website despite the numerous bad experiences some people have had with this guy. I Hope you get your wheels and they will be to your liking

Damn dude, You sure do have alot of faith in him.
It took me 7 months to get my wheels and that was only after the threats. And when I got them the offsets were wrong and it had the wrong size tires on them. Now only 6 months later 3 of the wheels don't hold air. So in my opinion, B. Gorman sucks at what he does!

I really hope for your sake he comes through, wouldn't hold my breath though. He made a lot of promises to me but in the end I got screwed. Good luck though

B is too busy with his church/faith and his family. His side business is building rims/wheels for car enthusiasts. Really?? but not too busy with his faifth/family to cash in the checks, $$$ from paypal. Pay up sucka! and get wheels done by those that have paid and waited for months/year. I'm so glad that i got my hre's done local and didnt have to deal with this headache

one car at a time
Crazy...You can get wheels custom made in less than 1 month. I would request a refund and go somewhere else, like HRE direct or ACG...

Hope you guys know he is on many other forums offering his services. Looks like he got exposed on mbworld so he is trying to scam poor folks that don't know our horror stories of dealing with him.

so i did get the wheels. he said they included tpms sensors in them but he was wrong. i brought them over to my local wheel guy and he said, there are no tpms sensors. i am pretty frustrated. so i did get all the wheels by the first week of may. so all in all it started august of 2011 and i got them 9 months later. THE OFFSET IN THE REAR IS OFF BY ABOUT 5mm. I am talking to someone about rebuilding these wheels correctly already. BILL IF YOU ARE READING THIS.. PLEASE SEND ME MY TPMS SENSORS.

Wow, they look great on your car!! Specs please? Are you rubbing with the wrong offset? Well, hope they will be reliable although 3pcs rims can be high maintenance.

thanks!! they are not rubbing but they are supposed to be lined up with the fender. take a look. i called dpe about this and am trying to get an outter lip that is not as wide in order to be even with the fender. i cant shave the inside hub due to caliper clearance issues.

it looks good at most angles. the 5mm past the fender is annoying.
