For Dictators, the Maybach S600 Is the Only Choice
If you’re unhappy with your awesomely expensive, ludicrously cushy, German panzer that is the latest S-Class, Mercedes has you covered with the new Maybach.
Built because excess and stupidity abound in the world, the new S600 Maybach is sure to be on the top of every dictator’s Christmas list this year. Jeremy Clarkson once said that only people with access to an air force should own the S600, and this new one is not going to buck that trend.
After a few years without the nameplate, the new Maybach will get the V12 Bi-Turbo that puts out 523 horsepower and 612lb-ft of torque… at 1900rpm. So if you’re coming under rebel fire, or need to plow through a congregation of protesters, you can do it quite quickly.
The new S600 Maybach is set to go on sale this April with a starting price of $189,350, not including destination, which for us normal humans might seem a bit steep. However, when you have access to nuclear missiles, an extra $1000 isn’t going to do anything to really hurt your Swiss bank accounts.
