Live from LA Auto Show: Mercedes-Benz debuts Vision Gran Turismo Concept

Mercedes always makes a strong showing in Los Angeles as California is one of their key markets, particularly when it comes to AMG. And accordingly, they debuted several new models including the S65 AMG, the GLA 45 AMG concept and GLA 250 (North American debut) and we’ll tell you about them tomorrow. But the vehicle that most impressed us and the one we’re happiest about seeing here in the US is one that, sadly, they won’t ever build– the outrageous Vision Gran Turismo Concept.

It debuted to strong applause from the usually-jaded journalist precisely because it is so wild and unfeasible. It celebrates its origins as a voluptuous video game car (from the Gran Turismo franchise, hence the name) and makes no apologies for being so brash. Did you notice that it has eight exhaust tips?! I could go on and on for another ten pages of internets, but instead I’ll just let you absorb this tribute to the marriage between technology and passion. Enjoy!
