Sports Car vs. Superhauler: AMG GT S vs. Audi RS 7

The new AMG GT S is a mind-bending car. The way it delivers power through the twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine is nothing short of astounding. However, I may be the only person in the world that thinks the steering is entirely too light for that type of a sportscar. Thankfully though, the driver of the AMG GT S in the video below really didn’t need the aid of steering to smoke Audi’s RS7 super hauler.

At a rolling drag race event somewhere in what appears to be Germany, the AMG GT S was challenged to a race against the aforementioned RS7. While the RS7 has the benefit of AWD, the AMG GT S weighs less, although it also makes less horsepower.

From the start, it looks like the RS7 is going to take the lead, but the way that the AMG GT S develops power combined with its drastically lower weight causes the sportscar to sling shot past the Audi. And the Benz keeps on pushing until the very end. Take a look.
