Bluetooth Phonebook Transfer on W204
I just got a new C350 with Multimedia Package etc. and I have been having a fun time trying to figure out about importing my phone book contacts to the car.
I just spoke with an MB rep for the bluetooth situation and he said that no phone will transfer the phone book to the cars system. I find that a bit frustrating as my E350 daily driver had an older system and it import the phone book just wonderfully.
I am willing to get a new phone as I am up for an upgrade so I will get any phone that people know works. I guess you guys can let me know if anything works or if I am totally out of luck.
Maybe I should have read the manual before posting but who does that? I did do some searching but I never really found a real answer.
Thanks for the help!

2008 C-350 Palladium Silver and MM.
I have one of the newest Blackberry's and I was disappointed that I couldn't get the address book over. It seems like this should be something that has a solution by now.

You can transfer records one by one using "send business card" feature on your phone. Just put COMAND into receive mode..painful, but better than retyping...

Thanks guys. So from the looks of it no one has been successful in getting a phone to transfer its data to the car? Well hopefully someone can tell me what I hear is wrong. It would be a shame if I had to enter everything in manually. I hear the other cars in the line all will receive the phonebook data as long as it has some specific protocol but the US C-Class just is set to NOT accept anything.
Anyone else?

So i would need to get a phone that will send the v-card over one by one and send them and save them to the car?

Yes, you can
Have sent the entire contacts to our C300 Sport 4matic from three different Sony Ericsson phones (two w300i and one w580i). Works well. But it is a bit of a pain to find the right sequence. Basically, you have to ask the phone to send all contacts and have the MB ready to receive the business card.

it took about 30 seconds to transfer 419 contacts, some with 3 different numbers.
First you put the car in receiving mode and then you transfer selecting all your contacts from the phone.
When you put the bluetooth of the car in receiving mode, both car and phone will show "disconected"|.This is the way it works.
The phone took some (longer) time to create the vcf files.
If you ever try to update, remember to transfer only the new contacts, otherways you will get all duplicated.

You guys must be doing something out of sequence. My BlackBerry's contacts were sent to the car via Bluetooth in just a minute or two. I have over a thousand contacts on my phone.

It worked for me. All contacts from my Iphone where send to the command system within 20 seconds. But you need a special Iphone cradle from your dealer. I now can use all contacs with my other phone (Motorola Raze V8) which also has another phone number than the Iphone.

My HTC Kaiser (TILT in the USA) worked just fine. Set up COMAND to receive and then selected all entries and "beamed" them to COMAND.

Is this something MB may be addressing soon and that can be reflashed/upgraded into the system? I have an iphone and pretty well gave up on having anything properly integrated.

As far as I know you should get this at the parts department at your MB dealer. MB made this cradle after Iphone released the 3G version because of the bluetooth problem of the Iphone. Paid about $500 for this thing (works fine but IMO not perfect it don't shows sms and you don't have your own ringtone just a crapy MB one....but I had the same prolem with the W203).

I have stopped into the local Apples store a couple times but to no avail. The bluetooth works just fine, it is just the downloading of contacts, etc that doesn't work. Still waiting for the one touch bluetooth "on/off" icon as well...(vs about 6 seperate taps....hmmm...just like PC would do it...) supposed to be in the pipeline.
