2009 Mercedes-Benz E550 vs. 2009 Lexus GS460 article
Hey guys,
These two models are at the foot of the higher luxury plane, which means higher and higher costs as you go. Many makes and models these days offer strong quality at an affordable price. Are there two economy vehicles you'd rather get than one E550 or one GS460? In fact, can you go as far as finding 3 or more vehicles (cars and motorcycles) that you can put in your garage rather than one of these luxury models?
After considering all that, would you still opt for the E550 or GS460 every time?

Thanks

I owned an 01 GS 300, then went to an E320. A world of difference. Then looked at the GS again when shopping for the E 350, once again, no contest. The GS was like floating on a raft, the E 350 sport is involving, but not so much as to be distracting.
Once again no contest.
Once again no contest.

I am an engine man and if you look at these two engines there are some pretty big differences:
Lexus / Mercedes
4.6 liters vs. 5.5 liters (The engine is worth 10k more in my book)
342hp vs. 382hp
339 ft-lbs vs. 391 ft-lbs (HUGE DIFFERENCE)
The E550 is also lighter.
The performance / difference in the engine is more than enough to make up for the difference in price as the E550 is superior.

4 wheeled car.
I've owned a 2006 GS300 (current body style, minus the 2008 facelift), and it's a terrible car! The dash creaks like no other and forced me (gladfully) back into a Benz (my W211 E55).
