it's so they can try to eff you without everyone knowing. at least that's what happened with another sponsor of this forum when i pm'd him for wheel prices recently. his special mbworld member price was higher than the sale price on his website...jack*ss!!!!!!

From a more reputable vendor, it can also be because they'll sell you a set below the lowest price they're allowed to publicly list them for, per the manufacturer's instructions.

^^^ Wow, that sucks. Reinforces, though, that it never hurts to do a little research and be an informed consumer.

HRE's allows its distributors to discount 10% max, do you think we pay less? All the time but if vendors posted those prices where would they stand with the manufacturers?
PM's are a thing of beauty and allows YOU the members to get better pricing. If you dont like the price move on. Now I do understand that there might have been in the past some less than desirable vendors here- Vivid is NOT one of them.

I don't get the fuss. That price (3400) is on the OP's website.
Also these wheels are available from other vendors, too. Even the same pics. All the info is on Al Gore's internet. So go shopping.
Now if the OP can do even better with a group buy, that'd be something to think about.
I want a set for my 993, but I need 18"
