Window/sunroof problem -- can I fix myself?
My car has developed a minor problem with my driver's window and sunroof (could be 2 seperate problems that developed simultaneously, but symptoms are similar).
The driver window has lost the "one touch" up ability. The "one touch" down still works.
The sunroof has lost the "one touch" close ability. The symptoms are slightly different. The window won't move at all without the finger on the button, but the sunroof starts to close after button release, than reopens 1/3 of the way through the process.
I'm trying to avoid yet another dealer trip, so if anyone has any thoughts on whether I can somehow fix these problems myself by resetting the system, I'd appreciate the assistance. Very minor annoyance, for sure, but still shouldn't be happening.

To resync your car I believe that all you need to do is insert your key, turn it to the ACC position, (do not turn the key all the way to turn the engine on), then hold the sunroof button in the close position for approx. 10 seconds. This should do it if I can remember correctly.

I own a 1997 BMW 328IS, coupe. I ran into some troubles in which I had to take my vehicle off the road for a year. I was stupid and didn't put it into storage. I just recently got it back on the road and had to replace the battery. Since then I have drove the car and put the windows down and the sunroof open no problem. Just yesterday I took the car out and went to put my windows down and only my passenger window would work but not my driver side window. Furthermore, I opened my sunroof and when I went to close it, it wouldn't close. When I push the open button I can hear the engine click, however, when I try to close it there is no sound? As well my trunk won't unlock. My gas gauge keeps going from empty to full, and my oil temp gauge isn't working. Any ideas on whats going on, and how to fix it without paying the ridiculous amount to take it in? Or is my electrical fried? Appreciate any responses

Reset sun/moon roof info helpful
Many thanks C240-Merc for sharing how to reset the sun/moon roof on my 2008 E350. It would only open or close about 1" per button push, but after the reset per your instructions it works fine again. You saved me a trip to the dealer and possibly a repair bill.
