3 Malfunctions: ABS, BAS and ESP. Need help.
My E220 Cdi got 3 Malfunctions: ABS, BAS and ESP two weeks ago. Shortly after the error message has appeared, the car goes in emergency mode and quickly stops. When I then try to start the car it won't.. After 1-2 minutes it starts and I try getting home, but of course the same thing happens again..
When I got home I disconnected the battery (to reset the system).
I also steered all left and then right and back to center and stoppes the car. (to reset the steering angle sensor? )
I also removed all tires and checked that everythings were fine. (everything looked ok )
After these "rituals" the car worked perfectly. For two weeks...
Today this happend again, and I start thinking it might be some serious repairs to do on this car...
But I hope someone in here have some tips and would like to share them with me
I apologize for the bad English.

Out Of Control!!
If the car were mine and knowing there were loads of sensors for the three systems you listed, I would not start buying parts, but spend the money and get a quick scan with DAS/HHT.
Alternatively start with checking whether your charging system is putting out more than 11V----check your brake fluid then change the break light switch---then change all the speed sensors-----then get four new tires---then change the BAS control unit and sooner or later you will find the faulty part!!
Or-----look at the post two threads above you-----that was solved by a couple of fuses

Rude dash indicators with easy fix
This is a classic symptom of a bad brake switch. They only cost about $20 and are fairly easy to install. Be sure to pull the little plunger out one click or it won't work when installed. The plunger is activated by the brake pedal arm under the dash moving front to back.

also, check your fuses.

I changed my brake switch and it didn't make a difference. I realized it was just a couple of fuses

and as a little side note, make sure the little white plunger on the new brake switch is the same length as the OEM one you take out. You can adjust the new one by pushing the white part all the way in and then pulling it out slowly so that you can match the lengths up

Still the same problem with ABS, BAS, ESC, ESP lights coming, stops car (emerg. mode)
After I replaced the brake light switch the same warning lights have been torturing me every other week.. Exactly the same happens every time. But I have maybe noticed something:
The problem has occurred almost every time after a short stop at traffic intersections. When I start driving again and starts to press the gas pedal, it feels as if the car loses power, and then 1-3 seconds later all the lights come on (ABS, BAS, ESC, ESP). And few seconds later the motor stops by itself. Most likely is the car putting itself into emergency mode. This problem have I struggled with for 6 months now. And my local Mercedes repair shop has not managed to solve the problem. They have run diagnostics on the car and tried to guess which part who needs to be replaced.
They have changed the Brake Light Switch and Steering Angle Sensor so far. But the problem is not solved.
Please read this. I need help from you.
Here is the diagnosis assistance system test:

Out Of Control!!
First your images are way to small for for my browser to make larger--I can't read the test results. Maybe someone else can read the material
Second, There is no "Quick Test Result" which tells you what modules are reporting a fault---then you click on the faulted module and the control module view comes on the screen which tell you why the module faulted----where is that???

Out Of Control!!
The dealer is using a very current version of DAS Xentry--Version 11_2012 with all the addon's!!
I can read the second set of pictures-----the big question I have is--- did they clear all the current and stored faults, because you have many??
Because you have many issues, I am ONLY going to discuss one at a time untill solved!!
1)What I would do first is start the car and then while in P turn the wheel all the way to the R and then all the way to the L that action should initialize the steering sensor(ESP fault)

I have done that
I use to do that every time the car stops on the road. Then all the lights goes away for a minute or two.
I am not sure they did remove all the faulty codes, but that should be the first thing they try right?
My bad! This diagnosis is taken before they replaced the steering angle sensor.
The steering angle sensor is replaced, and the car is programmed so the car knows it got a new sensor.

Very difficult to say, especially as I am no MB guru.
I've read about a similar issue if the reluctor rings corrode on the hubs/drive shafts as they send the wheel speed signal to the ECUs. But I can't see any related codes on your print-outs. Sorry, I do not know what to suggest ohter than an MB specialist
On the plus side you should be able to rule out the brake light switch

I have also just started having the problem described here with my 2001 E320. The warning(s) will come on randomly every 10 days or 2 weeks. I will add that the malfunction notices usually clear when I shut the car off for a while. Also, it always continues to run and stop fine when the malfuction notice appears. Lastly, the one time I had to go a considerable distance with the warning(s) on, the cruise control would not function. Does that add anything to the diagnosis?

Did you check the voltage on your battery? I was having a similar problem and had the brake sensor changed out several times. Mechanic suggested it was my battery. Right. Changed the battery and problem disappeared.

I am assuming that you live in a developing country, therefore 60m/h is really fast. I would try to keep my speed below 60m/h. That way you will not have a problem!!
However if you do want to go faster, I would start to look at(test) the wheel speed sensors--one or more sounds faulty----now how do I do that---well you can take weeks with a ohm meter and test the four circuits or find someone with DAS Xentry and he/she will find the fault in five minutes.
If you don't know where the speed sensors are add another week to your quest or do a forum/google search and all will be clear!!
