After market NAV head unit
I know people post tons of things on here about this and that head unit, but what I am wondering, in your guy's opinion, what is the best head unit that is NAV, Ipod, bluetooth phone, etc... that works in the 03 C203 W203 mercs that can utilize all of the speakers, and will not loose steering wheel control functions??? And not looking to spend alot of money here < 1000 USD!!
Any suggestions will be most appreciated!

I have a Pioneer X940bt and I like it. There are a lot of people who do not like the Nav part but love the sound quality. My experience with Nav is portable Garmin units and my Pioneer and I'm happy with mine. I wouldn't say it's better than the Garmins but I like it just fine and there's some things I like better than Garmin. I think if you don't like the Nav on the Pioneer, you can use the Nav on your iPhone since it allows "supported" smartphone apps to run on your HU with the touch screen interface. I don't have a smart phone so I've never tried it.
I've heard from people on the Pioneer forum (http://avic411.com/) who loved the Nav on the Clarion but were severely disappointed with the sound quality. If you're really happy with Garmin, Kenwood uses it with their HUs.
I'd recommend the X940bt as it has everything (and more) that I wanted (nav, bluetooth, microSD card, DVD, USB, iPod/iPhone interface, backup camera, etc.). I got it at a good price from Amazon. I'm happy with mine. Having said that, there are other options.

I have the AVIC F700BT and thats the best IMHO. Of course more current Pioneer AVIC's are probably better, but you cant go wrong with an AVIC for ease of use (voice dialling, voice command, touchscreen) and for the OEM look as much as possible.

Hey Zac,
Here's a picture of my AVIX X940bt:
Not the flashiest splash screen I have, but it seemed to photograph well...

It's the boot screen and, yes, it's customizable. A guy on the AVIC411 forum made them. If you go here, you can see others: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/...page__st__1200

Yeah all my speakers work, and they sound so much better compared to when they were connected to the stock HU. Also, I had to buy an adapter for the steering controls that was about $60, but once I got that all my steering controls and the display became active for the Pioneer HU.
