2015 Mercedes C300 Base Speakers
Hi guys I'm new to this form. I'm a BMW enthusiast and decided to give Mercedes a chance. So far I love it, I love the luxury feeling it gives. My first Benz was the CLA250 but sold it last week so I can get the C Class. The C-Class is a beautiful car, I've got the premium package and the sports package (I recommend the sports package). So today while I was driving I wanted to try out the base speakers. So I played my rap and techno songs and I was disappointed. There is no bass at all. I played around with the equalizer and put the bass to the max and still wasn't strong enough. My old CLA had amazing base speakers, the bass was amazing, I was amazed how good were the base were. I had harman pardon speakers before and the CLA base speakers were impressive. I'm writing the thread for any other C Class drivers with the base speakers that experience this. Are there any aftermarket speakers that are identical to the original?

If you have the premium package, doesn't that mean you have the upgraded Burmester speakers already?
I understand the C class has a bass system like the new S class, where it is built into the front frame of the vehicle to utilize it as a type of amplifier. So it should have good bass

Nope, the Burmester package is separate from the premium. The bass in this car is really poor.

I have the Premium Package and it came with SiriusXM Radio w/ 6 mos Service, Burmester Premium Sound System, LED Headlamps and KEYLESS-GO. Are you located in the US? Maybe it's a different package elsewhere? I guess it is a moot point now, but I find it interesting that yours didn't include it also. The Burmester is a very nice system, although the bass isn't that great IMO. Oh, and welcome to the forum and congrats on the new car!

In the US, premium package brings the Burmester. In Canada it is a separate, $1000 option.
I tested the Burmester system in the showroom with trance, and other than the eye-popping beauty of those speakers, the sound was also pretty good (although I focused more in midrange).
CLA2504Matic, you may have to open the door panelling (or take the car to an audio shop) to see what size speakers there are.
Are the regular audio system's speakers in the same spots as the Burmester ones, btw?

Have the Burmester Sound System in my C300. It's "good" but not that impressive, I could only imagine how bad the standard sound system is. My Range Rover's Meridian Sound System (standard) was about the same.
Had to turn the Bass down too.

Of course, but that would most likely only make it worse, the 205 OE speakers are not built like aftermarket speakers, it would take a lot of fiddling and custom building to make them fit.
One option would be to fit the Burmester spakers as they are bolt on.

Remember that non SA 810 (Burmester) doesnt have the right legroom base speaker as well as the parcel shelf ones.
Also unsure about the door tweeters as they are only coded with 810 in EPC, they might also only be available in Burmester systems.

Havnt done it myself, but pretty much yes, they should have the same fasteners and connectors, would also be interesting to know if the tweeters are there or not in non Burmester systems.

That is great, Thank you vic viper
if i replace the two front door mid and two rear door mid that can improve the sound quality!!

The Burmeister system is more than set of speakers. I'd bet it also uses different amps and crossovers which may have a different resistance load setup and signal split for the speakers. If I were you I'd look for a good aftermarket auto sound shop and talk to them about it.

Yes, the Burmester uses a powerful external amp, but what could a aftermarket shop do besides replacing the speakers?
Installing and integrating an aftermarket amp into the OE sound system will be very complicated and time consuming.

Well I was thinking more in terms of not mismatching expensive Burmeister speakers with the amp setup of the Audio 2.0. I expect MB will charge a premium for the Burmeister speakers so it would be a shame to spend all that money and have it not sound good. I haven't heard the Burmeister yet. I have a test drive etc. booked in for next week though. The Burmeister is one of the things I'll be paying special attention to. Sound quality is important to me. I'll be comparing the Burmeister to the $5k aftermarket system (Hertz amps, Cleansweep, and Focal speakers) I have in my current car; if the Burmeister doesn't measure up I'll skip it and put aftermarket amps and speakers in instead.

Considering how simple and cheap the OE speakers in the 204 looked compared to their h/k counterpart it will be well worth it, but of course that depends on the Burmester units cost.
I swapped from standard to OE h/k in my 204 and especially the tweeters were a great improvement, a sound system is only as strong as its weakest link.
