This is because Mercedes changed the pin outs on the Ecu and in order to safely ground the Ecu they have to open the casing.

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS "WOW"!!!!!
First, I'd like to thank Jeremy and Rocco from OE Tuning for the phenomenal tune!
Last year, I ran a bone stock 13.20 at 105.54mph and the car had barely 3000kms/2000 miles on the clock...
So last night, with 8000kms/5000miles on the clock,I was finally able to go to the local track to run the 1/4 and all I have to say is that I was both smiling and speechless at the same time!!!
My 1st run was a 12.253 at 116.93mph!!!
My 2nd run was 12.200 at 116.89mph!!!
I knew the car would be quick and I figured I could keep up with a new C63, but according to this car and driver article, I'm as quick as a new C63S with 503hp!!!

OE Tuning, Thanks for over-delivering!!!!!
All it has is a tune!!! Imagine with an exhaust and air intakes!
Next step, dyno run!
Here's the time slips and I'll try to post the video also!

MBWorld Fanatic!
Hey question. Is a C400 tuned and a C450 tuned the same HP because it extracts the most and the motors are the same. MB just detuned the C400 and upped the boost on C450?

Sweet! I just installed OE tune 2 weeks ago and feel like now i'm driving the car i always wanted. Your time slip confirms what I've experienced as well. Awesome. What do you use for the launch to achieve those times. S+, brake hold ,,2,000 RPM and dump or something else, thanks.

So traction control off, sport +, and brake torque to maybe 2000rpm... Just enough for the brakes to hold it but it lurches forward... Wait for the lights & floor it & let go of brakes at the same time!

Great times!! Is your tune the same as cajun's? I was wondering if OE has a more agressive tune than that installed in cajun's.Your speeds & times indicate about 40 more HP than the tune in cajun's.

I was trapping 109 on a stage 1 STI at ICAR which is kinda on the high side. At napierville I was trapping 104.

See? I frickin knew it. One solid ECU tune to get us up into the 400-500 something HP/torque range, but with that E63S-like 4matic AWD rear bias, and next thing you know we've got ourselves a poor man's C63.............WITH 4MATIC!!
WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!! Yes, call me a dumbass for trading my 2009 C63 (despite getting a offer I simply not refuse on the above market buyout and the trade-in discount), but there was a method to my madness. Can't wait to get my tune on.
And we've got people criticizing the move to noticeably well-tuned and AMG derived middle market 450s/43s. Short-sighted, narrow-minded, tunnel-visioned, and uppity idiotas. Done lost your so-called car guy minds.
We are getting crazy bang-for-buck.

Exactly what I thought! I had a 2011 C63 and the best time I got was a 12.6 once!.... And then 12.9-13.0s... Can't get the power down!
I never thought it would be 12.20 quick!... Even bone stock the C400 impressed with a 13.20. Funny thing is I'm the quietest car at the track! Lol Oh, and I was looking at getting back into an AMG (2014-2016 E63), but I'm gonna wait a little bit now! Lol
And I agree the C450/C43 with its AMG overall tuning is well worth it but was coming out 5-6 months after I got the C400.. Drove the 450 afterwards and it's exactly what I would have wanted, with the AMG exhaust tuning, speed shift tuning, etc...
I just need to find an exhaust or mufflers for this thing now! Anybody out there have C450 exhaust/mufflers they're getting rid of?

For your 400 I know that RennTECH can ECU upgrade you to 392 hp/432 lb. ft.........and only up to 404/454 for my 450. Pretty much the same numbers. Mind you, I tend to lean RennTECH 'cause they're local for me, roughly an hour way; 'bout 65-70 miles: http://www.renntechmercedes.com/inde...5-2015-present
But @ around $22-2300, those are on the high end money-wise. I suspect , partially due to the RennTECH-MB dealer relationship and the warrantied work - the founder Harmut Feyhl being the former head of AMG North America.
Still, while I'm not an expert on ECU upgrades (piggyback vs. whatever the other way is), I've seen OE upgrading for even higher power gains @ about half the RennTECH price.......and reliable from all my research as well.
So, hopefully one day we can both be upgraded to the low-mid 12s....and bust up some S4s and 340Is along the way. Rock on, Uptown.

I just brought them the ECU and it was the standard tune for the C400. The advertised tune is actually lower for the C400 than the C450 on the OE website (which wasn't the case initially). But regardless, I'm very impressed! OE is the way to go in my books! I'll have to take it to a dyno to see what it's putting down!

I also figure since the iCar is much newer, their technology should be also! Especially compared to old Napierville? Lol
My bro-in-law got exact times on his GTR that the magazines were posting for it at iCar.. And he's now in the 10s!!!
And anyhow, iCar is 15 minutes away instead of 1hr15 to Napierville!
