C450 Acceleration Testing

That is not entirely true. You have local hotspotting in the converter that does not raise bulk fluid temp quickly. Even on a duty cycle of 3 secs stalled 20 minutes normal running you are doing damage & will shorten the life of the converter. It shows up quite clearly in used fluid wear metals analysis.

With the OE numbers, I'd say below 12.5 for sure!!! The tune gives basically the base C63 hp and a heck of a lot more torque!
With the 4matic, no brainer! Do exactly the steps that oldman indicates above.... Just remember, when brake torquing, it might not be "exactly" 2000 rpm.... When at the tree lights, and the set of small yellow on top are all lit up, you are "staged"... Hold the brake firmly with your left foot & give throttle with your right foot gradually until you feel the car wanting to lurch forward.... The tree will count down and once green (actually try it on the last light before green since we react slower than the lights), you floor it & let go of the brakes at the same time!
Let us know how you do bud!

OE Tune Trap
Exactly what I am thinking^...12.7 at 111 seems awfully slow...this car should be on par with C63 AMG hp and more torque with awd...117 mph here we come you heard it here first! Haha I am just kidding Cajun do your best, but I do think the car has the potential to hit the number I stated.

^ Yes I am perhaps a bit ambitious with that prediction. It's winter here in Michigan, but once I get flashed I will take this thing to the track in the spring and see what I can do. Right now, OE tune is my choice. For what it's worth I think this car is around 108-110 trap speed car stock.
In regards to the horsepower made, 313 whp and 373 wtq on Corr Peformance Dyno is stout. I did some research to see what other cars make there and for reference (in addition to the cars I mentioned in the other thread) an exhaust, intake, tune 2015 Mustang GT 5.0 did about ~330 whp on that dyno, and an AMS 750R STI did 340 whp...That mustang should be about 415 rwhp on most other dynos given the mods and the STI should be around 430 whp...
The tune in my opinion is very close to the claimed gains by OE, given the hp and AWD, I do think this car can surprise a few. We'll see, I will also get either a GT2 or Vbox at some point and do my own testing.

Very nice!
My 2011 C63 ran those numbers!
You should be very consistent with the 4matic and I'm sure you'll at least do a 12.4! The tune has to "settle in" a bit.
Good job Cajun! Keep the time slips coming in! You're doing better with practice!
Cheers!

It is hard to get a 12.4 with 111 trap the speed.I don't expect it to increase much.It is usually pretty consistent unless you add more HP.

Cajuns Day At The Dragstrip
Good job Cajon.Nothing shabby about a 12.64 at 111.Some people were expecting more, but I know how difficult it is to drop .4 sec off your et.If you can get the 60' time under 2 sec's you will improve the et even more.

Yikes I was way off!
From what I've gathered, properly calibrated GT2 timers as well as Vbox units are very accurate. This is from a few different websites, as well as several car forums...
How then can the Oldman be getting 87 mph or so in 1/8 mile on a stock car, with a predicted trap of 110 (based on GT2 timers) and Cajun only do 111 with a flashed ECU...
Is it really the driving? I can't imagine it to be that different since this car is an automatic and the launching is pretty simple...
Furthermore, is it wrong for me to assume this car makes around 300 whp, 320 wtq stock and traps around 108-110?
Again with my thinking, I was hoping to see higher numbers so I am just trying to figure out where my discrepancy is...I myself, will be ordering a Vbox or GT2 over the holiday so I will do my own testing.
Strange though, and hats off to you Cajun for being the pioneer

Audi S4, C450 coming soon
Good job Cajun!! 1/4 mile racing is a lot harder than it looks. Just a little surprise that your 60 ft times are not below 2 seconds considering the car is awd. If you shave 0.2 seconds off your 60 ft time you might hit 12.3-12.4 in the 1/4. Try lowering the tire presure on your rear wheels slightly. The platform is still new so things can only get better.

Renntech Dealer Near Slidel La
Cajun,if you want to try the Renntech tune without removeing you ECU there is a dealer in Avondale La.It looks about 50 miles from you.I am sure they can download the tune without removing the ECU.

When I spoke to renntech they said they like to do all the tuning in house. So regardless if you go to an authorized renntech dealer or not the ecu has to be taken out and shipped to renntech headquarters
