I'm hearing significant noises but cant tell if that's normal for this car on badly paved streets...I dont expect it to be super smooth and quiet, but not sure if noises from the rear part of the cabin are normal.

Noises are normal, as these cars don't have the same amount of sound deadening as the E Class, and they are lighter. In my E63 you can't hear as much noise as my C63.

For me it's the driver's sun visor. I just give it a little push upwards and it stops the rattle.
The other one for me is the driver's side of the dash. It really bothers me. I don't hear it over smoothe roads, but over somewhat bumpy roads it's pretty annoying. I'm trying to see about getting it fixed if possible.

I also hear a rattle occasionally, especially if it's cold outside. I asked a friend to get in the back seat to figure out where the rattle was coming from. It seems something under the black mesh behind the sunscreen rattles, not the sunscreen itself. I hear the same rattle if I tap on it with my fingers (it's a bit hard to reach).
Very annoying, but it only happens once in a blue moon.

I get a rattling noise from underneath the car but it's only something I hear in quieter places like going up/down a car park ramp. Tried to have it checked out before but it's either the "can't hear it" or "it's normal" answer.
Also get a squeeking noise in the cabin.... having a hard time pinpoint the source. I am guessing it's the sunroof. Really bothers me if I have the music turned off.

I have the rear sunshade rattle on rough roads at high speed - so annoying. That thing is lucky Im not in the backseat because I would literally rip it out.
Other than that, I get a clunk from the rear of the car too when going over raised bumps at higher speeds. Not like speed bumps but on the highway and and such.
It almost sounds like something underneath is loose, or even the backseat moving. The only other thought I had was possibly the spare tire moving - Im going to take it out this weekend and drive around to test that theory.

These cars are stiff...pretty decently stiff on suspension, P30 or not. I always hear almost every piece of gravel or little stones hit my fender walls which bothers the hell out of me because I feel like it's sandblasting my undercarriage. I do here creaks ALL the time. I also hear creaks in the dash evertime I hit a small bump or take a sharp turn.
I remember hearing some "old wives" tales about leaving the car in the hot sun once or twice then pulling it into the garage to really cool down in the shade and the expansion of the plastics allows some settling and they "fill" in the spaces better and cause less creaks. I have had it work.

Rear sunshade rattle here too. Brought it to the dealer multiple times and they can never replicate it. It only happens when down, and its sporadic. Putting it up solves it, although I never use the sunshade and prefer it down.

I get the occasional rattles from the rear so must be my sunblind too. Overall its a pretty solid car with 15000km on her.
Coming from a BMW 335i hardtop convertible that stupid thing sounded like a box of rusty nails!
I have a new rattle thats getting worse, the pop-up screen lid seems to rattle over bumps more and more. WHen i push my finger on it, its stops. Seems to rattle on its legs or hinges. Annoying.
For a long time too i had a rattle from the passenger side and realized it was the seatbelt clasp hitting the B pillar - simpling moving the seatbelt over the seat bolster, when not in use, solved it.
There has to be some fix out there for that sunblind!?

I also get that rattle on the rear sunshade. Putting it up then down solves it sometimes but not always. Took it to dealer but they can't reproduce it. Also had a thunk which the dealer lubricated the rear seat latches.
Recently started to get some rattle somewhere left of the steering wheel, but can't pinpoint yet.

I have had a variety of rattles and noises, most come and go.
Most of the time since new I have had the rattle of that plastic and metal mesh section beneith the rear window/Sunshade area. After 3 dealer trips to fix it have given up.
I had another rattle coming from the trunk area and after a neighbor rode in the trunk and found it, he bent it slightly away from contacting and it is fixed. It was a metal section behind the little access area on the passenger side of the trunk.
Lately it is my driver seat, dash and driver door that makes noise.

The suspension is quite hard on this vehicle, so I am impressed that this car has the less rattle than my 'softer' suspended 203 model. That said I did hear a rattle from the passenger seat but it turned out to be the seat belt buckle hitting the side B pillar. Quickly sorted. The only thing that keeps coming back is the rearview mirror has a very tiny squeak that is sorted when I hold and squeeze the front and back together. Though it reappears after some time.

I too have the sun shade rattle, goes away when up. I had a rattle behind the monitor, pulled it out, and it turned out to be a metal connector plug. Put some felt tape in between it, and the plastic clip, and sounds gone. Now i have a rattle in the passenger front door.
As far as outside noises, i only hear the clunk from the right front suspension once, and awhile usually during a full lock turn. Im told it may be the sway bar link.

I drive in DC everyday... all I hear is rattles.. I just turn the radio way up :P
I honestly believe there would be fewer rattles and noises coming from my car if I was driving on some off road rally course as opposed to the crappy *** DC roads.
