Question about the battery
Hello folks,
Since summer is just across the corner, I've been enjoying the cleaning of my car myself. While doing that, I tend to blast some music on, while the engine is of course turned off.
I was wondering, how long can I keep up the music in the car while running on batteries? and is this a bad thing?
I did it a few days ago and I noticed the system shut itself (the radio only) I was still able to see info on the display screen in the middle.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

I was waiting to pick up my son a few weeks ago. He was significantly delayed and I ended up listening to the car stero (with the engine off) for an extended period. I recall that it shut down after about 1 hour.

Not sure about C63 but I know the W212 E63 is an electric hog. I usually hook my battery to a BatteryMinder on Friday PM of the weekend I don't go out, and the BatteryMinder don't usually go into the conditioning mode before I go to bed (>5 hours). Whereas my other older cars' battery will go into conditioning mode within a couple of hours. Note conditioning modes automatically starts after the battery is fully charged.
Anyway, I was in my car this past saturday loading 10 CD's unto the music register--took like forever. Of course it's connected to the BatteryMinder all these time. The conditioning didn't even come on by the time I go to sleep on Sunday night.

I've done similar things in my AMGs - I just turn the music back on by hitting the main "on" button. I would not leave the key in the ignition or anything like that. No problems for me using the stereo for 3 cycles (didn't want to push it after that)
