Speedometer asymmetry...
Okay, I know some of you are going to hate me after pointing this out to you but has anyone here noticed that the spacing in our speedo's changes above 120 mph? The tick marks are one per 5 mph up to 120 and then it changes to one per 10 mph. I apologize in advance if this bothers some of you from here on out. It's bothering me and I just had to bring someone else down with me! haha.

ive noticed this while i was trying to push my car to 150+mph .. as soon as u hit 120, you feel the car is just not accelerating like it should, mainly due to the speedo, but also the fact that its harder to gain speed higher up in the range as quick as u do 20mph+

Guys it's not odd At all. The spacing is reduced at the lower speed so that the driver maintains the speed limit on the road. When you are over 120mph, your basically over the speed limit in many places in the world, and spacing is enlarged.

Hahaha sorry flomofo. No issue at all, just observing. And of course I have OCD so it bothers me. Yes Laszlo, that's what made me check it. I remember my M3 having the same set-up.

I noticed that 5 minutes after being behind the wheel. How can 80mph be top dead center, and have the speedo go to 200 and start at 0. Not possible, unless the ratio changes. Otherwise we would only have a 160mph speedo, or we would have 100mph DTC (which may look irresponsible).
