Poser Pics
Hey all,
This weekend I was down in Asheville NC. I was at the Biltmore Estate (great place) and on the way out of the parking lot I spotted a white S-class with the AMG badge. I took a pic. 2 minutes later, still in the Estate, there was a 12 E350 pulled over with an AMG badge! What are the odds of seeing 2 AMG 'posers' within 5 minutes. While the S-class was parked and I did not see who was driving it, the E-class was driven by an elderly gentleman that I have a hard time believing went out and bought an "AMG" badge online and stuck it on his car. So, are we sure dealers are not sticking them on cars and tricking customers or sticking them on cars with AMG packages?

MBWorld Fanatic!
I don't understand why there's always uncertainty. The factory never sticks on an AMG badge unless it's got the engine. Some dealers stick on the badge because they're idiots. Some customers put on the badge because they're posers.

My Neighbor has an AMG badge on his ML-class SUV (not a ML55 nor ML63). 2 guys that work in the same company as me also have their regular MB's badged with the AMG logo. A E550 and a C230 (the latter removed the "0" on his car). You can buy the badges on E-bay or Amazon, easy to do, easy to place. But, yeah, they are posers as well...

Go the other way, and ad a Bluetech badge or a 1.8T to your 6.3
Maybe some feel buying AMG floormats makes it an AMG.
WHatever floats your boat.
I hope to get my car the end of this week, just lined up a friend to fly me the 400 miles so I don't have to take a train.
Personally I picked the C63 for it's performance and stealth. I just wouldn't enjoy driving a canary yellow Z06 or 997T, now , a yellow Porsche GT3 I'd be out of the closet with, but that was my true dream car a few years ago when I lived for the race track. I had the orig 997.1 GT3 ordered in white, but pulled the plug, when my proposed local track didn't get built.

I guess I'm the opposite extreme, but I think the car looks best with no badges so I just removed them.
