This is bad news! I can't see myself buying a car with a column shifter. The CLA250 has a column shifter but the CLA45 does not so hopefully that's a sign for the next C63.

Not digging the column shifter as I shift most of my shifts via the gear selector since my hand is on there.
Also hate the new "stuck on ipad" look for the navi.

Not diggin the tablet. And that steering wheel looks ugly. I guess it's more a out how the wheel feels but I prefer a flat bottom wheel. Hopefully the AMG will have a nicer wheel.

Thats a shot of the normal C Class. The AMG variant will have a console shifter
The innovation in that interior will far outweigh anything in the last stint of the current model

Agree completely +63 +507. I'm sure there will be more technology in the new model, but I bought the 507 because it is intentionally a bit raw and unrefined (There is already more techno than I use). That ipod thing looks terrible. Why design something so it looks like an afterthought? (my guess is to make the more "upscale" models E, CL, SL look more refined)

Now I will definitely buy one...in 2017 a used C63 with 28,000 miles on it and after one of you guys mod's the SH#!^T out of it. Lowered, new wheels, 600 hp to the wheels... You know how we do it!

My biggest disappointment is that nav screen out of the A/CLA. It's ugly and cheap looking. It works in the more economy geared car, but in the C it should have been better.
Otherwise the column shifter is stupid, but won't likely be a problem in the AMG.
Everything else looks decent.

It's really funny how styles and things come and go but when in hell did the column shifter suddenly come back!!!!???? I mean, it started out in the S class, and I could kinda see it work for that model, then it trickled its way down to the E class and now the CLA, then all the SUV's and now the next C class. So, they have decided to basically do this with all models other than the SL and AMG's. I don't get it, they are the only major brand doing this (GM tahoe's don't count). Are customers actually asking for this garbage? Why did they decide to suck every little bit of "sport" out of the regular models?

The new mercedes are starting to look like Buicks. The C-Class has always mimicked the S -class for the last three generations. I hate the back of these cars now. The column shifter also appears in the 2014 E class Coupe. I guess its to free up space so you could put your latte/smart phone there as well as make room for the A/V controls.
It looks like Cadillac and Lexus are starting to be better looking and driving alternatives to the current line of BMW and Mercedes. Not sure where i stand with Audi.

i wonder if Key-less-go will finally become standard, likely nearly every other car on the road. Still amazes me to see new Mercedes with 100k+ stickers missing that option. Saw a new E63 yesterday with $116k sticker, and it was missing. Had the old key fob.

Wow! That actually looks impressive.
I was just discussing the purchase of the current model, but having seen this tells me the new C-Class has just moved up a notch. A big notch by the looks of it. This will make the current design look slightly dated imho.
The only thing I don't like is that it is getting bigger ....100mm longer than the CLA!
