C63 AMG Black Series -My Impressions
Okay so for those of you that don’t already know last week I sold my 2012 C63 AMG P31 Sedan and picked up a 2012 C63 AMG Black Series! For me the move was into a car Ive always wanted just couldn't make it work (Financially) a few years ago. Well fast forward to today and Im finally in that Black Series! I don’t know how long I plan to keep this car but for right now I couldn’t be happier driving it.
My C63 P31 Sedan:
Attachment 445755
My Black Series Coupe:
Here are a my impressions of the BS:
Things I miss on my C63 P31 Sedan:
Overall Im so happy I made the move to the Black Series! -Its a lovely car and does feel very special.
*Preview* Next up is my C63 BS compared to my brother’s BMW M4!
My C63 P31 Sedan:
Attachment 445755
- Eurocharged Tune (507 Base File)
- H&Rs
- Oil/Air Separator
- ROW Airboxes W/ AFE Filters
- Forgestar CF10s
- Resenator Delete (Straight Pipes)
- Giro Disc Rotors & Porter Feild Pads (All 4 Corners)
My Black Series Coupe:
Here are a my impressions of the BS:
- Right away I noticed the wider stance of the car from the driver’s seat (its quite noticeable)
- Upon acceleration this car has faster upshifts than the P31 sedan with the same MCT transmission.
- The biggest thing for me is how different the rear end feels! This to me is what makes this car so special. It is very apparent when you mash the pedal how much less wheel spin there is and how much more rear end grip this car has. I can drive this car all day with Traction completely OFF and have no grip issues -I couldn’t say that at all about the P31 sedan.
- The suspension is a night and day difference compared to my previous car which was on H&Rs. The ride is very smooth and the car feels like its on rails! For comparison I can corner the HWY on ramp about 30km/h faster than in the P31 sedan.
- The car has more braking power, not a lot more but one can still feel it.
- The car overall is a stiffer vehicle with a much more race car feel (I know it should be obvious)
Things I miss on my C63 P31 Sedan:
- Blind Spot Awareness
- Lane Keeping
- Parking Sensors!
- The power outlet behind the center console where I used to plug in my phone
- The better turn radius (BS is horrible!)
Overall Im so happy I made the move to the Black Series! -Its a lovely car and does feel very special.
*Preview* Next up is my C63 BS compared to my brother’s BMW M4!

Great review and congrats!
KW makes the suspensions for the Black Series cars. It's no wonder it handles so well =)

Thanks Guys! Its exciting to still be a part of the MBWorld crew!
Planned Mods:
Ill post pics when a proper photoshoot has been done
- Painted Side Markers (LED bulbs)
- Black Vinyl Accents
- Black Painted Badges
- Black Painted Exhaust Tips
- Tinted Tail Lights (Light smoke w/ centers cut out)
- Wheels -Likely HREs (I will NEVER put Forgestars on my car again -even if they're free!)
- Full IPE or Cargraphics Exhaust with Headers
- Carbon Canards (As long as they dont throw off the balance of the car)
Ill post pics when a proper photoshoot has been done

IMHO , IPE sounds ****.
I have MHP headers with cargraphic sport cats and stock rear end.
I used to have cargraphic rear end but the car was just screaming high tones. The stock rear end gives it the real AMG bark back.
I absolutly LOVE the sound my BS now makes.
You can hear it in the video ( its the white BS )

Then all of a sudden one day about 3 years ago when just messing around online - Wednesday, July 13th - I saw one CPO at local dealership (along with three M3s and and IS-F available at those manufacturer's dealerships).
Long story short, by Friday, July 15th @ 12:00 noon the same steel gray 2009 C63 was being driven off the lot, title in hand. Bam!! Still don't believe I pulled it off, but I'll get over it.
So, my chump change and mildly relateable nickel & dime story aside (is relateable a word?), sounds like you had an awesome plan and you executed it flawlessly as far as I'm concerned.................infinite CONGRATULATIONS!
Not to mention, maybe one day before I die one can follow in your footsteps, the proper role model that you are. Though I would settle for an SL 65 Black Series.
Enjoy yourself and stay safe as you drive your serial killer AMG that has left a trail of 30+ dead bodies in its wake - one slaughtered M4 to come shortly. (Translation: It's a street legal DTM Car!! Well, maybe, maybe not, but pretty much it is...........if that makes any sense.) Sadly, as we drive our piddly little AMGs, still working on a single count of 1st degree manslaughter.

Impressed with the comments about improved traction. Out of curiosity, is a limited slip differential the biggest difference between the BS and your old C63?

Congrats!!
I agree on all statements about the CBS, especially the turning radius (embarrassingly poor) and lack of parking sensors. I loved my C63 sedan, but the CBS is in another league!! I have seriously considered picking up another one for track duty only.
BTW, I have the Mode Carbon Canards and love them. No negative handling issues
