rear suspension pop
the past few days i've noticed that when i accelerate from a complete stop I hear this pop/clunk type noise come from the rear passenger tire area. It isn't every time, but its fairly often.
it almost sounds like a rock being kicked up from the tire but the tires are clean nothing stuck in the tread.
Any ideas? I searched and couldn't quite find anything similar. My best guess is rear shock is bad.
factory warranty is up next month so i may just take it in regardless

I would check the left and right axle shafts. It sounds like a failed joint. I would also check the driveshaft flexible disk, and all the suspension links since you are under the car anyways.

Havent had time to get a serv app yet and its usually about a week wait, so i took to checking a few things.
Thought i had it solved when i checked the spare tire area and noticed the tire iron was loose and the noise sounded like it was in the trunk at one point....drove around nope not it.
Slow acceleration no issue at all, quick acceleration from a stop and after a few second the weird noise, does it in c and s havent tried m yet.
Guess im going to be asking for a loaner and hope theyre thorough

Just read this after i pm'd you lol. Good job checking the spare tire stuff thats a pretty common issue. It's most likely a shock. The rear suspension on these cars is very stout. I've actually never seen a rear axle shaft or diff fail without outside influence with less than 150k on any of the benz's but theres always an exception somewhere.

yup, its LSD since it's a P30 package.
i'm hoping it's just a shock, car only has about 37k miles on it. shocks was my first thought since it's on quick acceleration when the rear suspension would be under load.
we've had tons of suspension issues on our mustang gt, so hopefully this one's an easy fix

lol, those only start cracking after about 6yrs. Lots of carnage when they go. Seen one break at the transmission yoke, driveshaft smacks the top of the transmission tunnel right below the esp module.... bam all airbags deploy, as the engine insanely free revs and the driveshaft destroys the tail of the transmission. Thats one way to total an older car with maintenance neglect, probably soil yourself while doing it free of charge.
