Wavetrac LSD by Weistec any good?
I'm thinking of getting a wavetrac limited slip differential by weistec on my '13 C63 AMG Coupe this summer. Total comes out to $2400 including installation. Just wondering if anyone has it and will it increase my handling and 0 to 60 time by a lot? If it does increase the 0 to 60 time, is it by a lot? The car does lose traction quite a bit so if the lsd helps a lot then I'm more than willing to buy it right away. Also if you had the choice of getting the lsd or long tube headers which would you choose? I'm assuming the lsd will improve the 0 to 60 time over the headers.

There are allot of discussions here about the Wavetrac LSD. I've never seen anyone who disliked it and those with experience with it and the MB stock LSD unit seem to prefer the Wavetrac.
What is the price breakdown parts and labor. Your total seems a little higher than I've seen unless your having it done by a MB dealer.
Prices for the LSD alone should be around $1050 or so.

If you are here in SoCal (since I am assuming you are having Weistec install it, that means you are either shipping it or you are close), I would give Serge at BenzWorks a call.
He quoted me quite a bit lower than that.

The LSD works really well.
Not sure how much quicker you'll get to 60mph though. Probably not that much. But the feeling is more secure and predictable. An open diff on a 500hp car is just nonsense. No wonder the W205 C63 comes with a LSD as standard.
2400$ is quite expensive. I had everything done under 2000$.

I think we sell the Quaife, installed, for right around $1800 (sales tax here is 9%). Not sure what the Wavetrac retails for, though.

I figured- that's why I said (a few posts up) that $2400 seemed close. If their labor rate is closer to $140/hr. (like the dealers around here) and the quote includes sales tax, I could see it.

I put s wavetrac in an it really improved the cars ability to launch when turning. For instance I'll pull out of my neighborhood onto a relatively busy street and I can really be aggressive. Before the wavetrac one wheel spun and engaged traction control immediately.

Not trying to open a can of worms , it was suggested to me by A very recognised race car builder , racer and tuner said for the diff in mention the way the wavetrac operates it may not hold up well in tuned cars that see plenty of right foot ...he suggested going with a quaife or a brand that started with D I can't recall ....how is everyone finding there's

The WAVETRAC differential is engineered to take just about as much horsepower as you can throw at it. In almost any given transmission or rear axle, the WAVETRAC Differential is not the limiting factor in torque capacity. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact us.

Anyone find it funny that the Vivid thread was bumped recently?

2015 E63 S model
I got a very nice deal on my Wavetrac from Vivid Racing. They were excellent to work with. Hoping to get it installed in the next few weeks. I am anticipating total cost of around $1700.
