Worked the poor man's audio into the COMAND head.
I took apart the glove box enough to plug into the AUX plug, and threaded the cable back behind the box, behind all the plastic work on the interior, and now it comes out the ashtray door along with a USB charger cable. Pandora is now an option through the system. The aux cable in the glove box is only visible in the nook the jack is in.
Yesterday, I repaired the splash guard behind the valence panel under the front bumper; the previous owner had hammered it against the pavement far too many times and it was held on with a zip tie. I also replaced the thermostat, and now the car gets to the 92 degrees C it is supposed to instead of barely reaching 50. Yes, I see better mileage now too - that repair will pay for itself fairly quickly.
The more I dig into this car the more respect I have for the designers. If you take a moment and think about what they were trying to do, very nearly everything is repairable by the owner. The same held true for my '85 300D, and the same is proving true for this '05 E320. Love it.

I actually was rooting for Denver. Until Cam is on a team that isn't top 5 in defense, he will not get the benefit of the doubt from me. Every year he's been in the league he's had a outstanding defense. With that said, if I was a quarterback and knew my defense could win games for me, i would have a big mouth and talk a lot of smack just like cam. Peyton however needs to retire!

but good, glad you have your head on straight. I agree though, I'm sure Peyton will end his career on a high note and retire after this year. Amazing athlete, the defense helped make the win possible as always, offense had some decent plays in the last quarter. I think Osweiler, being a free agent, is a good possibility for a replacement.

Independent shop did all of it, friend of mine owns it. The only time the dealer ever touches my car these days is for warranty work like the fuel sending unit.

Added chrome door handle inserts. Still not completely convinced I did the right move. My wife is using my car to commute a lot now (our GL is leased) and her finger nails are scratching behind the handle pretty badly.

Installed front seat covers and replaced glow plug #3 on my car. Glow plug was way easy, and I put some antiseize on the threads for the inevitable next time. The seat covers were a bit of a pain: had to take the seat backs off to get the headrests out of the seats but it wasn't tough to do. Getting the seat (seat, not back) covers anchored under the seats and under the seat front cabinet took a bit of contortion, but it'll be worth it. They look tight and the passenger one covers a poorly done repair from a PO where they had sliced the middle of the seat for an inch or two. The seats are a bit more comfortable than sitting on bare MBTex now too.

Finally after a lot of research purchased a quality cover and wish I had done it earlier. I hate dust with a passion and I'm in hell until I get some cladding up at the new place. So cover went on like it was custom made for the car and 8 days later as I was taking it off I just folder it up (all sides) onto the roof and put it in the boot. Took me all of about 2 minutes and the car shined just as it did when cover went on. Really impressed with the quality and finish.

replaced the plastic covers over the seat rails. The rear rail covers were broken and looked terrible. Cheap fix with great results.
This week I also purchased the foam canon from chemical guys, and their soap. Used it once, worked perfectly and was fun to use. Touchless wash. Only had to dry. HIGHLY recommend this...... and a power washer.

Brake wear, visit shop display came up Wednesday, but because of long work didn't get a chance to swap out part until today. Read a fellow member problem, which as they noted was pretty much on point.
$22.00 , about 30 minutes to install. The hardest part is twisting your body under the streering wheel.

Front Pads - 0044208720 - looks like this comes with the sensor. I just now recalled that when I ordered these pads they did come with the sensors. I have extra sensors because of this.

Your numbers have probably just been replaced by the newer number. both seem to be the same.

A few online sites find the Rear Disks p/n 211-423-07-12 but list the following below. Is this also just a newer part number?
BRAKE DISC UNVENTED
Part Number: 000-423-10-12-07

Put yet another new set of wheels and tires on. This is the third and final set. I had beautiful stock 18" chrome wheels and Continental tires. After going through 6 tires in 18 months and bent rims that became to far gone to fix yet again I went down a size to 17's and went with Generals. Much less expensive and a lot less road noise. Needed a wheel beaing as well. Car rides much better, but I don't really care for how it looks. The car doesn't stand out any more. It looks muted. However, my wheel options in that size for the money I was looking to spend was limited.

With out these guys I would have spent a lot more time and money. The help I received is beyond a simple thank you as NO ONE agreed these would work on a 4matic

Restored headlights (3m kit plus spar urethane sealer) and troubleshot windshield washer problem to most likely be the pump. Ordered new pump. Wasn't fun because the wheel did not want to come off (lots of kicking was involved)...
Also ordered new cowl as the rubber is almost gone on mine.
