Lock/Unlock Chirp
Hi All,
Wife's 4 month old Q5 was declared total loss and just got a GLC 300 4Matic Black/Black a week ago.
Her "old" Audi and other cars we've owned all "chirped" when locking/unlocking with either smart key or door handle, but the GLC doesn't do this. Does anyone know how to get it activated? Have looked through the settings (but not intensively. still recovering from jetleg) with no luck.
Thanks!!!!
Steve

You can have the horn "bleep" when locking - and also choose to have mirrors auto-fold-in when locked.
Center dash - push Vehicle botton (car outline) brings up the settings menu on the LCD display - scroll thru and make those settings.
There are some additional settings controlled by the left buttons on the steering wheel - scrolling thru the dash cluster display.
Have fun - keep the beat !

I agree as well - seems designed to upset the neighbours! A crisp Germanic beep would be much more appropriate than sounding like you're pulling away from a party after having had a drink or two too many

I love/love this - a new owner asks a question - gets a clear answer - and BEFORE even setting it up he has a neg... backed up by the Whimey's... maybe it's better put this way.... your GLC has the same alert system as a GLS63.. have fun..

don't get me wrong. We are happy with the car, but most agree it sounds cheap and not unique. question is what made them change it?

Maybe I am the odd one out but I don't think bleeping the horn is any worse than the beeping sound.
They are both terribly annoying so I keep it turned off on our GLC, just as with prior cars.
The door locks give a very nice and satisfying "thuck" when they lock, hard to miss when using Keyless-Go to lock the car by tapping the handle.
