Thanks Marek....looks pretty straightforward; my local MB dealership (Nanaimo, BC, Canada) wanted $118 plus tax to replace it.
I wonder which universe they live in??

I plan to change cabin filter, air filter and fuel filter by myself, in mercedes Slovakia they want for cabin filter 67 €, for air filter 73 € and for fuel filter 137 €!!! (prices for filters + work) I can buy these filters each for 27 € (all MANN filters) so I will save 196 €!!!

Seeing as the filter is about $50-60, the remaining ~$60 or so are for 0.5 hours of labour. What universe do you live in that you think this to be unacceptable? According to your logic, I suspect that you feel the same about people making more than $12.50 an hour (yourself included)?

I mean, changing it by yourself is perfectly fine if you are so inclined, but please don't b!tch about a perfectly reasonable price for the service. If you wanted somethign cheaper, you should have bought a bicycle.

I bought three of these filters from Filterheads for $36 and replaced the original in twenty minutes.
I like my universe better.

Folks, the link to the cabin filter install pdf from Mann is dead http://www.mann-hummel.com/mf_prodka...u/HB5JXdhG.pdf. Anyone know where else to find it or some different instructions?

Just replaced my cabin filter with a Mann filter bought for $24 inc shipping from Amazon.com (in US).

The filter I removed had the Mercedes logo on it and was installed by dealer at last service. It was a Mann filter identical to the Amazon one.

Took about a half hour to install. Next time it will take about 20 mins now that I know what to do.

Those filters will not have the carbon, that's why they are so cheap. But it's not hard to beat the $60 price from the dealer for an original filter that has carbon in it. And you are right, it's not a hard job, just a little awkward and it's easy to lose those little metal clips that go on each end.

But the other person was correct, the dealer price was completely reasonable. As usual, it's always cheaper to do your own work though.
