So, what are some of your likes & dislikes of your ML? Hidden feature that makes you smile each time?
After 3 weeks in my ML
Likes
- handling, the steering wheel is so smooth and easy to turn
- Airmatic, sports ride and comfort.... I'm on comfort 95% of the time
- looks both interior and exterior, especially love the LED lights
- blindspot warning
Dislikes
- no way to set Comfort but at Sports height. I love the ride but would love it to be a bit lower
- USB port doesn't charge.. Huh?
- Can't assign seat memory to a key fob
Tips
- in reverse while raining, it will automatically wipe the window
- use the key fob to open and close all the window

What I like:
The B&O stereo is better than my Mark Leviston in my LX at all volume levels.
Love the low end power.
Handling and ride are really good for the size vehical.
Everything works and having almost every option available, it is a miracle!
Cons:
All those included options increases the ML's price to where few would approve and yet have not a single regret!

Likes:
- interior/exterior fit and finish
- faux leather-wrapped dash
- plenty of room for 4 or 5 adults
- power level of the twin turbo V8
- very comfortable for long hauls
- still think it's a great looking SUV
- HK audio sounds plenty good to my ears
Dislikes:
- low speed operation of transmission is clunky
- I don't like starting out in 2nd gear when I'm in normal tranny mode
- suspension isn't as buttoned down as I'd like (stock suspension)
- in town gas mileage is poor, but not surprising given power level
I don't regret buying this MB one bit so far.

Likes:
- Ambient lighting, especially the footwell lighting - it is very welcoming.
- Cornering light for vehicle with Intelligent Light System.
- 360 Camera - Great for lining up in the parking bay.
- Active Lane Keeping Assist - one-side braking to steer the vehicle within the allocated lane, especially if accidentally crossing continuous line.
- Hazard lights and interior lighting are triggered automatically in the event of a crash.
- Keyless-Go with all four doors touch lock/unlock - Can only appreciate the convenience once you got them.
- Easy-Pack powered tail-gate - Press and walk-away convenience.
- All interior lights are turned off when locking the vehicle - even if a light was turned on a moment before.
Dislike:
- Sway (side to side) control could be better for steel suspension models.
- Distronic Plus don't recognise stationary vehicles at traffic light and queue behind it. PreSafe Brake will eventually be triggered but it wont completely avoid a front to rear crash.
- Command Dial cannot be used to search the next MW (AM) radio station for my standard entertainment unit (only works for FM).
Tips:
1. When in 'Tel' mode, scrolling and clicking the Command Dial onto the 'telephone' icon at the end of the numbers brings up the redial list.
2. Press and hold the (+) paddle when in manual gear mode to go back to full-auto shift.
3. Press and hold the Sys button for 2 seconds to activate the 360 camera.
4. Clicking on the rear passenger side reading light turns on the light. Click it again to turn it off.

stupid door lock pins that get in the way of my elbow. Who needs them?

Same likes as everyone else.

The dealer.
The distronic light coming on and beeping, even though I don't have distronic. It comes on randomly and I don't know why.

part number please
I got these AMG door pins to fix that problem. They look just like the OEM AMG pins but at around 1/4 of the price. Just unscrew and screw on.

Hello, can you tell me what part number you ordered? The link listed in the thread is no longer active.
I was going to go ahead and order the MB ones but would consider these as an alternative. Also, can you please share installation details? Did all 4 doors have to be taken apart to install these? Or were you able to pull these up and push the new ones in? Any pics so we can see how flush this fit? Thanks in advance.

MBWorld Fanatic!
One small thing I like about the ML, as compared to other brands, is the presence of the Weather Band channels on the radio. It's very handy when traveling. I wish that other brands would pick up on this very useful feature.

They install the same as the MB pins. It is very easy and you don't have to take apart the doors. I just used a pair of locking pliers to loosen the original pins and then I just screwed the new "AMG" ones back in by hand. It is the same for all 4 doors.

I like the following:
- Ambient Lighting
- Quite ride
- Good amount of power
- Decent on Gas
- Leather Style Dash
- Fit and Finish of both interior and exterior of vehicle are top notch.
- 20" AMG wheels w drilled front Rotors look really amazing
- Flood/Puddle lights on my running boards and the active curve illumination. Overall lighting is really cool from both a looks and functionality standpoint.
- Double sun visors. When I flip one down to block sunlight from the side of the car, I still have one I can flip down for sunlight entering the front of the car.
- Polar White paint with ebony/black interior.
I dislike the following:
- Command. I come from Acuras and the Acura/Honda systems are exponentially more user friendly and intuitive.
- The Harmon Kardon sound system doesn't have a separate control for subwoofer. Doesn't sound as spectacular as I had expected it to.
- The crappy rear entertainment system options that MB offers. Overpriced dated ipad docking solution or over priced smaller than standard screen dvd players. Both options are very ugly looking in my opinion and protrude out of the head rests.
- The lack of driver memory settings being programmed to an associated FOB.
- I hate having to stand there and press the driver 1/driver 2 button for the seat settings.
- The ipod integration cable doesn't work very well.
- I can't use the USB cable to listen to music on my iphone/ipod, only to charge it.
- Side View mirrors are smaller than most other cars in its class.
- The cheap looking door pins. MB should have given us something nicer for a $60k+ car.
- Wish some tail pipes showed. Would look much nicer.
I'll add to this list after I've owned the car a little longer. As of now she's only about 14 days old.
