Mercedes Benz Dual Electric Exhaust Cut-Outs
We have just signed on with Quick Time Performance to carry their parts on the West Coast so I wanted to take this opportunity to put a kit together that fits well on the Mercedes Benz's with dual exhaust. The low-profile oval electric cut-outs fit perfectly on the piping that goes between the rear end and the mufflers. They mount easily while pointing perfectly out the back of the vehicle where you want them to. These cut-outs fit so perfectly, you would think that they were manufactured specifically for the Mercedes Benz. These can easily be installed by any muffler shop.
In the kit we put together we have included two oval electric cut-outs (1 for each pipe), 2 oval turndowns (1 for each cut-out) and the wireless remote kit so you do not have to drill or install a switch anywhere.
If you have been looking to increase the noise from your Mercedes, this is the perfect way to do it. You can go from stock sound to loud sound at the touch of a button and at a fraction of the price of an aftermarket exhaust.
Please PM me for price.

You install them before the mufflers but when they are closed the sound remains stock, when they are open they get louder. If you open them up all the way that is the loudest setting or you can stop them at any point in between for less noise.

Holy crap....I smiled when I heard this V12...it does sound a little like a formula 1 car. I would definitely like something like this but only when I wanted it for a few seconds haha...therefore, I need the electric exhaust...and to figure out how to get that sound.

I think it's a Y-pipe where one outlet goes to the muffler, the other goes directly to the atmosphere. So if the one that goes to the atmosphere is closed, you get standard muffler sound. If it's open then you get the "no muffler" loud sound.

Why oh why would anybody in their right mind put these on an S-class? Has anybody here actually listened to a car with cut-outs? They're ridiculously loud and have no place whatsoever on one of these cars. They're meant for the motorhead crowd over at Mopar, Ford, & Chevy.
They're also good for getting exhaust smell and gases into your car when your windows are open.

I will post some pictures of the install with the oval ponds when I do one next week. These fit very differently on a Mercedes than in the pictures of the QTP web site. The pictures on the QTP website show the round ones with the Y-pipe install. With the Mercedes vehicles we are able to do a very clean installation at the back of the car with the oval ones that directs the exhaust gases out of the rear which is ideal.
I promise to have some photos of the next install that I do.

Yea on the QTP site the installs make the hot exhaust gas go where they shouldn't be. I'd be worried about heat damage to other things e.g. wires and electronics behind the metal. Your way sounds much better.

Don't do it! You'll regret throwing money away on this mod and will end up putting it back to stock, or going for a real cat-back system. And our cars sound absolutely nothing like an F1 car. My old E60 M5....now that sounded like an F1 car when it was winding past 7000 rpm's. A high revving Ferrari or Lambo V10...those also sound like F1 cars when they're being wound out. No production Benz that I've ever heard of has the F1 sound.

We just received another shipment of oval cut-outs so our inventory is really good right now.

There you go. The video doesn't do it justice though, sounds a lot better in person, I can't remember if this was open or closed. But this was right when my SL65 got the cylinder heads and billet turbos installed, but had bad IC pump, and wasn't tuned for it.
From what I've been told from other people that saw the car before and after the head/turbo mod it got louder. A 600 should sound close to this but this has intakes/custom 3 inch exhaust with catless downpipes, heads, and billet turbos. These are also QTP cutouts but I bought 3 inch with circle shape not oval, and the cutouts are located right after the midsection. This is a pic of my exhaust when I had it down about 18 months ago.
At idle with catless downpipes it sounds like a diesel truck but at WOT it sounds amazing, with a loud crackle/pop sound on upshifts or when you let off at 6k rpm

The camo car is an R231 SL63 with Wesitec ecu/billet turbo/downpipes/transmission with a trunk tank and meth kit. This is an R230 SL65 with custom intake/exhaust built in shop, with billet turbos/heads done local, EC ecu/tcu/heat exchanger with a meziere pump and trunk tank and a quaife LSD.
There building me a enlarged top mount intercooler, but first they need to focus on a few more minor bugs and I need to drop it off at the body shop for the black series conversion so they can do a front mount CAI the same time they do the new top mount intercooler

We have every size QTP cut-out in stock I believe. They make them in the oval style which we advertised here but the also make round ones in 4", 3.5", 3", 2.5" and 2". Actually, I do not think that we stock the 2" ones.
I can't tell you the last time I had a car on the lift that had a 2" exhaust pipe.
