12' E63 AMG questions.
Ok guys, I am in the market for an E63 AMG and I have found one that I am interested in but it seems off as far as price and options vs the rest of the E63 market. 2012 E63, 36k miles, 1 owner, AMG perf package, LSD, Carbon brakes, bi-xenon lighting, Nappa Leather. It is priced at 36k dollars which seems a bit low looking at the rest of the market. It is for sale at a BMW dealer and they do not have the options listed, I decoded the vin to get the options. So my questions are, do you guys think it is priced pretty low as well and what do you think are the reasons for this. I was thinking possibly the cost of replacing the ceramic brakes as the vehicle is getting close to 40k miles which leads to another question. Has anyone had any experience resurfacing the CCB rotors and which company did you use? Any info you guys have would be great. Thanks for the help.

It's about right for a 5 year old benz ... curious the in service date if it was 2011. Carfax clean? Autocheck?
$10k for ccb pads and rotors job I hear
$1500 for tires
due for a big service at 40,000 miles I think which may include lsd again
is this car modded?

That car you're referring too I believe needs ceramic brakes hence the price at 36k. The rotors and pads alone in the front are like 6k.

You can NOT resurface the rotors, you replace them, and from the dealer they are close to 3k each.
Carbon rotors lose their mass (get lighter) as they wear out. So you need to have an accurate scale (that can weigh grams) to understand how much life is left in them.

more info.
Hey guys just got a reply from the dealer and a copy of the carfax, it has two reports of damage to the left side of the vehicle listed as a light impact with another vehicle both were in 2012. This BMW dealer has had this E63 since June of last year, I am waiting for a reply back about the condition of the brakes and any other issues the car may have. Here is a link to it listed on autotrader. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...elCode1=E63AMG

I would dump the CCB's and go with racing brake 2 piece rotors from and rear.
There is about a 10lb difference per rotor between a CCB and lightweight 2 peice like racing brake offers, which is substantial, but don;t think its worth the 4x cost.

Roll racing
Yeah that would not surprise me at all haha. I am going to keep this one in mind and keep looking around. I'm not in huge rush, I would like to find a clean 12' or 13' with under 40k miles with the performance package.

If that is who i think it is, then its @m6nyc on instagram. Could very well not be him, but he had one the exact same color combo, and i know he pulled all of his carbon pieces off of the exterior because i almost bought them.
If you have instagram, go check his videos of it.
Now im pretty picky, but judging the way he drove the car, i wouldn't get it. i know these things are built with performance in mind and are supposed to be driven hard, but i'd want a more babied, non modded, non wrecked one.
Do what you want though.
Me personally, if it is indeed that guys car, i wouldn't get it.
Oh, i just noticed it's at a BMW dealer too. He got a M6 after this car. Very well could be his

Info
Hey guys thanks for all the info, I did message him and got the same info. Car still has built trans and upgraded turbo's. He said the tune needs to be sorted out since he was running a separate ecu with a race tune. I'm going to keep this one in mind and keep looking for a clean one that has not been raced. I doubt it is going anywhere, it's been at the dealer since he traded it. If I do decide to get this one I could probably get it for less than they are asking and use that savings to get it retuned. And since the car is less than market value I could also pick up an extended warranty and still be out of pocket less or close to buying a stock car with no warranty.

LOL you think you're gonna get a aftermarket warranty, or extended warranty on a 5 year old AMG with upgraded turbos and different ECU?
