2017 C-Class Coupe Unveiled

The new C-class sedan has an uncanny ability to look like a baby S-class, and now the exact same can be said for the C-class coupe. Set to launch early in 2016 as a 2017 model, the new C coupe — unveiled just ahead of it’s official debut at the Frankfut Auto Show — will understandably share quite a lot with the sedan (especially the wide array of standard collision avoidance systems), so lets take a look at what’s going to be different.

Starting under the hood, you’ll find but one engine to choose from and that would be the 241 hp turbo four cylinder. Amazingly, the turbo V6 found in the C400 sedan is not said to be offered yet. The rest of the drive-line will be available though, with the option of either rear, or 4matic all wheel drive.

Inside, the instruments, dash layout, and Mercedes COMAND system will carry over from the sedan, though sport seats will be standard on the coupe to allow access to rear seating. Since we’ve mentioned it, rear seating will benefit from a nearly 4-inch increase in overall length. Further out back, you are greeted with a rear tail-light design very reminiscent of the S-class coupe.

Rumors of the C63 coupe amid the Frankfurt auto show are buzzing around, but for that we’ll just have to wait and see.
