2021 Maybach

Mercedes has finally divulged the exorbitant price tag of its flagship luxury sedan- the 2021 Maybach S-Class.

The global automotive industry adheres to a popular maxim that dictates that every generation of Mercedes-Benz S-Class introduces tech that takes at least a decade to trickle down to mass volume models. The company is currently facing many challenges. The luxury brand’s parent company, Daimler was recently restructured and renamed Mercedes-Benz.

As it turns out, the company is not letting its state of affairs affect its product rollout. Mercedes introduced the 2021 Maybach S-Class back in November last year, and the company has finally divulged the exorbitant price tag of its flagship luxury sedan.

The prices of the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class start from $173,000, and customers would have to pay an additional $1050 as destination and delivery cost. This means that the latest Mercedes-Maybach sedan is $78,750 more expensive than the entry-level Mercedes-Benz S-Class model.

2021 Maybach

Back in November 2020, we reported that every 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class variant will receive some level of electrification in addition to a wide range of futuristic features. The standard S-Class sedan is already quite an opulent offering, to begin with, and its prices start from $94,250. Mercedes-Maybach will rival the likes of other ultra-luxurious German limousines in the segment, which include Bentley Flying Spur and Rolls-Royce Ghost.

The $78,750 premium that Mercedes expects customers to pay for the Maybach S-Class will buy you a GLE SUV Coupe, which is priced at $76,500. As you would expect, the 2021 Maybach S-Class comes equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which includes features like rear-wheel steering and a 30 speaker Burmester sound system. Even the car’s wheelbase is 7 inches longer than the Benz S-Class.

The rear seats also get a dual-screen entertainment system which is paired to a couple of wireless headsets. The car is powered by a Biturbo 4-liter V8 motor which produces 496 HP of maximum power and 516 lb-ft of peak torque. The German brand has also confirmed that it will introduce a V12-equipped model sometime later in the product’s life cycle. The all-new Mercedes Maybach S-Class is scheduled to hit dealerships across North America by mid-2021.
