Fixed Roof Mercedes SL Rendered
There have been many within the automotive community begging Mercedes to bring back a full coupe version of the iconic SL. Through the years, we’ve seen more performance oriented versions use a similar naming system as the SL, things like the SLR and the SLS, but both had little to do with the actual road car. Alas, many of those voices were quelled, and the dream died off.
Now however, Mercedes has re-introduced the SL, and those voices are once again back, shouting “shut up and take our money!” Thanks to X-Tomi, a rendering artist who specializes in high-end renders, we can finally see what an SL coupe might look like with a fixed roof. Blending styles from the AMG GT S and the new SL, the rendering looks quite stunning.
Undoubtedly, this particular design, though gorgeous, will never happen. However, AMG has said that the in-house tuner will possibly build a 2+2 or a four-door car that could likely use the SL as its basis. So maybe there’s still hope?
