While many tuners fall victim to the ‘more is more’ mantra, Mansory bucks the trend by simply replacing a few parts.

The art of tuning has existed in the automotive world for decades. And yet, tuners continue to push the envelope in terms of what’s capable on modern vehicles. Unleashing extra horsepower used to be sort of a compromise, one that traded things like reliability and driveability for speed. But in this day and age of computer-controlled machines, that simply isn’t the case anymore. And the new Mansory Mercedes-AMG C63 is perfect proof of that.

The standard C63 is certainly no slouch, producing 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque as is. But Mansory kicks things up considerably, all the way to 650 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. So you might think that they slapped on some sort of power adder to accomplish this goal, or maybe even reworked some internals. But you’d be wrong.

All it took to unleash that extra 147 ponies was the addition of an extra control unit, a sports exhaust, and the removal of the car’s electronic limiters. The latter of which allows the Mansory Mercedes AMG C63 to reach a new top speed of 192 mph.

On the outside, you’ll notice the car sits closer to the ground thanks to some lowering springs. A variety of 20-inch wheels are available, including some ultra-light forged pieces. Body mods include a roof spoiler, rear lip, and carbon fiber diffuser. The interior wasn’t left untouched either, receiving aluminum pedals, illuminated door sills, and embroidered floor mats. And if you’d like, you can opt for any variety of luxurious finishes for an extra cost.

It’s an attractive package, for sure. And quite refreshing in a world where many tuner cars are simply overdone. The Mansory Mercedes-AMG C63 proves that you don’t need a ton of tack-on stuff or excessive engine work to build one seriously fast, seriously cool ride.
