Love and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class are two things in life that last forever, it seems.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is one of the most iconic vehicles ever to grace this earth, and as such, doesn’t really need to be advertised. In fact, the luxury brand has no trouble selling the newest version of the G-Class, as it’s rather difficult to find one on a dealer lot these days. Regardless, that didn’t stop Mercedes-Benz from recently releasing an 8-minute long vampire love story dubbed “Stronger than Time,” a unique piece of advertising that was created by a Berlin agency named Antoni, which has been the automaker’s advertising partner since 2015.

The long advert kicks off with the story of two people in love, but there’s just one tiny problem – one is a vampire who happens to be immortal, while the other is a normal human living on borrowed time. The two are discussing the many problems with their complicated arrangement, and wind up realizing that nothing, it turns out, is forever, including their time together. The story then fades into a recreation of Romeo and Juliet, but one that stars a whole cast of characters, as well as a fleet of G-Wagons.

Next, the vampire is depicted as a pop star wrapped up in a secret love affair with the human, forced to choose between her feelings and her life as a glamorous celebrity. However, in spite of external forces trying to rip them apart, the two endure, once again proving that their love is indeed immortal.

The tie-in here is the fact that the G-Class, like true love, tends to last forever. And in a way, that’s certainly true, as Mercedes’ iconic off-roader has been around for four decades now, earning a reputation for being tough as nails. The automaker claims that 80 percent of the G-Wagons it has produced over that time period are still on the road today, an impressive statistic indeed.

And that’s precisely the rub – Mercedes wants buyers to think of the G-Class as “immortal,” a vehicle they can rely on for decades. Truthfully, the legendary model is so plush and capable, it’s hard to imagine anything we’d rather spend the rest of our lives tooling around in, either, even if we aren’t the types that have a taste for blood.
