Please Help! Sixteen-Year-Old Can’t Decide Between a C63 AMG and GT-R

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG vs Nissan GT-R Home

This 16-year-old Canadian kid (known on our forum as “DatBenzEh“) has a serious dilemma on his hands. He’s looking at buying his first car, and he can’t decide between a C63 AMG and a Nissan GT-R. I call that a serious dilemma because I seriously wish I could have had his dilemmas when I was 16.

Anyhow, putting aside my yearning for what never was, and this kid’s uber first-world problems, let’s see if we can help him choose between a Nissan GT-R and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

Here’s the kid’s plea for your knowledgeable guidance:

Hello All!

I’m 16, I have a well paying job, (company actually), I have my student pilot permit (I’ve soloed and just waiting to turn 17) and I’m looking for my first car. This will be my DD so I need to be able to use it throughout all 4 seasons (Canadian winters tend to be harsh).

I’m stuck between choosing either the GT-R or C63 507 Sedan (a distant dealer has one on his lot ready to go).

I was really close to pulling the trigger on the 507 yesterday but my email server was down so I didn’t get the final quote and now it’s Sunday (dealership’s closed). As I was browsing through YouTube, I came upon this video of the GTR:

It reignited past memories and dreams of getting the GT-R and now I can’t decide which one to get .

I’d get both, but at my age and in my particular situation, that’d be a stupid investment.

Looking for some feedback on this topic. I know of a lot of you guys own a C63, some a GTR and even few both. I know this is a MB forum, however, please try and be as unbiased as you can . Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I’ll just be using the vehicle to drive around the city, go to school, a few meetings, the office and screw around with my friends.

Regards.

What would you like to tell one of the luckiest human beings inhabiting Planet Earth? Should he buy either car? Here’s a link to the forum thread to help him.

“DatBenzEh”, here’s my opinion: if buying a GT-R or a C63 AMG (or even both) is part of following your highest excitement, then follow your highest excitement. Just don’t get yourself killed screwing around with your friends … unless that’s also part of your highest excitement. Okay, on that last part I’m kidding.
