Clark Gable’s Gullwing Sells for $1.85 Million

The 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing originally owned by the Hollywood legend Clark Gable which was featured in the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction on January 19. Both Clark Gable and the car itself are icons of their time. It was expected to sell for over $2 million at the auction, but bidding stalled at $1.9 million. The car was not sold due to the reserve it carried. But later on, it was eventually sold for $1.85 million.

Things You should Know About the 2013 E63 AMG

Reports indicating that the enhanced model of the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG will offer a modified 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system with a torque distribution of 67 / 33 (rear /front axle) were found to be accurate. According to AMG chief executive Ola Källenius, this will give new AMG model improved handling and will make it faster on the track compared to the RWD design. In comparison, the normal E-Class models with feature a 4MATIC system with a torque split of 55/45.

Mercedes-Benz Posts Record August Sales Figures

August 2012 was good to Mercedes-Benz, with all-time high sales figures for the month. We’ve already reported the figures from MB USA, and now here comes the global tally.
