TBT: RADO’s Fire Breathing Twin Turbo SLS AMG
If a car can literally scare you and then bring you elated joy within the span of 10 seconds, it is likely something special. That’s why we have to admire RADO’s SLS AMG. Not leaving well enough alone, two turbos were thrown at the AMG, increasing the engine’s potency to 883 horsepower. Sometimes that means traction on a dyno can be a chore. And that’s why you see a guy folding himself into the trunk for added traction.
No one was expecting that the Gods of Fire are fans of the SLS, but on the over-run, the flames that exit the exhaust can be measured in feet. Yeah, there’s a moment of being spooked, but it’s quickly followed by a mile-wide grin. There aren’t too many other automotive joys that can be put higher than that, but I’d suspect the actual dyno numbers are likely close.
We promise that this 40-second video is very well worth watching and sharing. I’ve watched it about four times already, and it just doesn’t get old.
